Ever since the new biographical book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family hit the stores in August, a lot of personal details and secrets about the royal couple have been unearthed.
The revelations either made their fans happy or irked their critics. According to authors and journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, in 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveled to Australia and New Zealand for official engagements.
During the official royal visit that lasted 16 days and included 14 flights, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who was pregnant at the time, had managed to take part in 26 official engagements.
It is unknown how, but Prince Harry was able to whisk a pregnant Meghan away for a “completely secret night” to Fiji at the luxurious Vatuvara Private Island resort.
Along with Meghan’s former best friend, Jessica Mulroney, and her husband, Ben Mulroney; they enjoyed a special night that included a fancy dinner.
The authors wrote: “In Sydney to take on engagements and host the fourth Invictus Games, Harry and Meghan managed to sneak out for an evening off with Jessica and Ben Mulroney, the latter of whom was covering the Games for Canada’s CTV network.”
They went on to reveal: “A real estate billionaire loaned them his home for an intimate and completely secret evening with a five-course meal prepared for a private chef.”
A critic displeased with the revelation said this: “Secret date,” secret this, secret that… yet here we are, knowing all of the details in their life whether we want to or not! And no, we don’t want to know ?.
Another angry royal fan asked: “One question Scooby: Who paid for all of these luxury secret escapades?”
Meghan was called out by this social media user who penned this message: “Was this not a “working” tour? They usually have every minute planned for these tours. Wonder who they stood up or canceled, to go on this little’ ‘date night”?”
This commenter mocked the pair by saying the following: “No wonder they left the Royal family! To have to work like this, what horrible conditions! ???”
No more secret rendezvous for the power couple who has since exited the royal family and the pair has been living a luxury life in California and making millions with paid engagements and TV deals.
They recently signed a contract with Netflix worth $150 million. Those moves have turned them into bigger magnets for critics.
