One of the happiest moments for the British royal family turned into a real web of lies and a mini-war between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.
When it was announced that Meghan Markle had given birth to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, royals fans were delighted.
Months later, people are discovering what really happened behind the scenes, moments that led to the royal baby announcement.
According to the newly-released book titled Battle of Brothers: William, Harry, and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult by Robert Lacey, there was a surprising delay.
The British historian made the shocking revelation that when Buckingham Palace told the world that Meghan was in labor, she had already gone to the hospital, delivered her baby, and returned home with Prince Harry and her mother, Doria Ragland, by her side.
Lacey writes that the royal family waited eight hours after Archie was born to falsy claim Meghan was in labor.
The royal expert revealed: “Their stratagem was bolstered by Buckingham Palace’s putting out a strangely misleading statement at 2 p.m. that day saying that the Duchess of Sussex was just going into labor — when she had, in fact, been delivered of her new son eight hours earlier.”
William was not pleased with the white lie according to the famous biographer who explained: “He did not think too highly of Harry and Meghan’s ‘prima donna’ maneuvers to conceal the birth of their son.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William “punished” Harry and his wife by waiting “a full eight days” to meet their newborn nephew.
The Duke and Duchess Cambridge made sure that Meghan and Harry felt their anger by not bringing George, Charlotte, and Louis to meet their baby cousin.
The author went on to say: “By contrast, the Queen, Prince Philip, Charles, and Camilla all turned up within hours to coo over the baby — and it seemed strange that, when the Cambridges did finally pitch up more than a week later, they didn’t bring along George, Charlotte, and Louis to welcome their new cousin.”
There is a lot of drama unfolding between the brothers because they no longer see eye to eye, and Harry confirmed the growing divide in a past interview by saying: “Part of this role and part of this job, this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably stuff happens. But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment, but I’ll always be there for him, and as I know he’ll always be there for me.”
Harry added: “We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy, but I love him dearly. The majority of this stuff [in the press] is created out of nothing, but as brothers, you know, you have good days, you have bad days.”
Harry and Meghan seem to have moved on, building on their American Dream.
