Meghan Markle Felt Misunderstood By The British People, And One Prominent Member Of The Royal Family Knew Her Pain

Not everyone was surprised that Meghan Markle decided to step down from her royal duties and leave England with her family.

In her new interview, royal biographer Ingrid Seward revealed that Prince Harry‘s wife never liked England because she understood that the British people would not give her a chance.

Seward compared the philanthropist to another American divorcée who married in the royal family and caused pure chaos — Wallis Simpson.

Simpson married Edward VIII in 1937, against the will of the Church of England, the public, and the Government at the time.

The scandalous romance rattled the monarchy to its core, forcing Edward to abdicate the throne. Seward revealed Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was not ready for the many difficulties of being a royal family member.

Seward had this to say about Meghan during an appearance on Fox News: “It was a very similar scenario, although in a totally different era. Meghan is a divorcee, which of course, we are still a little old-fashioned about in England. She’s American, and Harry seemingly gave up everything for her. So there is a real similarity. Wallis hated England.”

The editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine went on to reveal: “She hated the climate and felt people didn’t understand her or her sense of humor. In Meghan’s case, I think she very much felt that the British people didn’t understand her or particularly liked her. And I don’t think she was a great fan of England either. Her home is California, and that’s where her heart is.”

Seward, who is currently promoting her new book entitled Prince Philip Revealed: A Biography, claimed Queen Elizabeth II‘s husband knew before everyone that Meghan would suffer as a royal.

Prince Philip found life hard when he wed then-Princess Elizabeth in 1947. The Duke of Edinburgh had a soft spot for Meghan because he knows what it is to be an outsider.

Nonetheless, Seward claimed that Prince Philip is shocked that Harry and Meghan walked away from their royal duties.

The writer stated: “Philip’s way is that he says his bit, and then steps back from the situation because he doesn’t like to interfere. It was up to Harry and Meghan to listen but they didn’t and Philip has always been very protective of the Queen so if anyone upsets her, they upset him too. His mantra is the monarchy comes first, second, and third.”

Seward continued: “I think he’s very, very disappointed because I think he feels he gave up his naval career in order to stand by the Queen and help the monarchy. And why can’t Meghan just give up her acting career, support her husband and support the monarchy?”

She concluded: “As he used to say to Dianna, this is not a popularity contest, this is all of us working together. He just cannot understand why she couldn’t support Harry and help him rather than wanting to have her voice.”

Meghan and Harry are enjoying their new lavish life in California with their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
