A new book, Battle of the Brothers: William and Harry – the Friendship and the Feuds, claims that Kate Middleton and Prince George were the reason why one of Prince Harry‘s past relationships did not work out.
While it was not Kate’s intentions, she contributed to making the power couple — Meghan Markle and Prince Harry — happen.
According to the author, royal expert Robert Lacey, even though Prince Harry’s romance with Cressida Bonas looked very promising when they became involved in 2012, they separated two years later because of the Duchess of Cambridge and her firstborn son, Prince George.
Despite being very much in love with the Duke of Sussex, Cressida was scared because of the British royals’ lifestyle and the way Catherine’s child was being raised.
Apparently, Bonas decided to end her relationship with Prince Harry after watching a TV report about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first royal tour to New Zealand and Australia.
In his read, Lacey claims, “In 2014, she was said to have been ‘completely spooked’ after watching the TV coverage of William and Kate touring New Zealand with baby George in tow – that was not the way she would want to enjoy her eight-month-old son, she regretfully explained to Harry.”
In addition, Bonas, who is an aspiring actress, “did not enjoy the critical remarks that she could hear people making behind her back,” and felt that being part of the royal family would interfere with her career.
When the duo ended their romance, a friend issued a brief statement that read: “It’s very sad that they have decided to split, but this is a completely amicable separation, and they are remaining the very best of friends.”
After Bonas stepped away from the prince, he dated Mollie King, an English singer and member of girl group The Saturdays. Harry dumped King because she was sharing too much of their private lives.
Harry went on to have a brief romance with Ellie Goulding who never spoke about her dating life.
Prince Harry and the former Suits actress began quietly dating in 2016, but the romance quickly became serious, according to royal reporters and authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.
In their new book, Finding Freedom, they revealed that the duo said “I love you,” just three months after their first date.
The book revealed: “Almost immediately, they were almost obsessed with each other. It was as if Harry was in a trance. Three months into their relationship, a Meghan friend said, they had already begun swapping the words ‘I love you.’ It was Harry who said it first, but Meghan immediately replied, ‘I love you, too.'”
Harry and Meghan had their lavish royal wedding in 2018. Despite the end of their romance, Prince Harry and Bonas remained on close terms, and Bonas was one of the guests at his wedding to Meghan.
