Kate Middleton is getting slammed for her lack of action and empathy towards Meghan Markle, who dropped multiple bombshells during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Sitting with Prince Harry by her side, the former American actress revealed that she had suicidal thoughts after becoming a member of the royal family and did not receive the proper help to deal with her situation.
Meghan Markle said that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, made her cry during her wedding after a fight over dresses.
She also revealed that racist remarks were made about her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, before he was born.
Meghan Markle made it clear that she suffered alone because Kate Middleton and Prince William never offered to help.
Prince William and Queen Elizabeth II have spoken about the accusations made by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and his wife.
Prince William told reporters that the Royal Family is not a “racist family,” while Queen Elizabeth issued a lengthy statement on the matter.
Since the Duchess of Sussex dropped the revelations, Kate Middleton has made several public appearances and has decided to stay mum.
Many have attacked Kate Middleton for staying silent. One of those critics is Laura Schäfer, the editor of Focus, who claimed that Kate and other royal family members “reacted wrongly.”
Schäfer blasted Prince William’s wife for “not living up to her role model function.”
Schäfer said: “But someone who, however, completely ignored the topic was Kate.”
The news magazine editor went after Kate for not wearing a mask while in a large crowd: “A noble gesture – if it weren’t for two things. First, she seems to have forgotten that the coronavirus is also rampant in England. Videos of Kate in Clapham show she didn’t wear a face mask. Usually, the Royal Family is meticulous about setting a good example and wearing masks in their public appearances. Second, by showing up, Kate thwarted the police’s strategy. Organisers had moved the vigil online at short notice.”
Kate and William were also bashed for using the late Princess Diana‘s name for a PR stunt in a series of photos shared on Mother’s Day that featured cards from Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis for “Granny Diana.”
Schäfer had the following to say on the matter: “A very sweet idea, but one that is so private that one can certainly ask why the palace is now going public with it. Here, too, the idea suggests that the aim is to paint a positive image of the Cambridges. They not only sympathize with other people who have been plagued by tragedies, but have also survived the worst crises themselves.”
She concluded by saying, “It can be seen that the royal court has switched to crisis mode. However, the first measures backfired completely. If Kate continues to play the game, as the future queen, she will be the big loser.”
Fans of Kate say she made the right call to stay quiet.
