Cardi B is getting ready to make some big money moves inspired by Rihanna.
A few weeks ago, the famous rapper from New York explained that she wants to be like Rihanna and become a billionaire businesswoman, and she has taken the first step to do just that.
TMZ has confirmed that Cardi B filed papers to trademark “Bardi Beauty” on April 16.
The outspoken activist plans to launch a cosmetics company that will sell makeup, fragrance, skincare, hair, and nail products.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Cardi B explained the move by saying: “But now that I’m at the level that I’m at, one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and JAY-Z. And I’m not just saying it to kiss ass or anything. I just feel like they’re so influential because Rihanna comes from a country, a Caribbean country, that my parents came from, and she’s a whole billionaire.”
She added: “But for her to make her business so big and be a billionaire, that’s what I strive to be. That’s what I want. I want to be a billion-dollar woman. I want to build a huge brand.”
Cardi B made headlines this week by flaunting lots of skin in a sexy photoshoot and by showing off a gorgeous new blue ombre hairpiece as she posed in a striking outfit while outside the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The 28-year-old “WAP” rapper posed in dark blue jeans, a white corset top by Vivienne Westwood, and a matching pair of white stiletto heels as she held a stylish blue bag and used her other hand to move part of the large blue hairpiece away from her face.
She also wore long pink nails and a variety of gold jewelry, including a large pair of draping earrings, as she posed in front of Chris Burden‘s Urban Light installation in LA.
Part of her giant floral tattoo, which she first revealed to fans last year, could be seen thanks to the corset top, which showed off her midriff.
Cardi B captioned the photo with just one word, “Azul,” meaning “blue” in Spanish. She added a blue heart emoji to indicate her love of the color.
The rapper has shot to fame in recent years and has faced criticism for her racy songs such as “WAP,” but shows no sign of slowing down as she shared snaps from the studio over the weekend.
She is working on her second studio album and delighted her 88 million Instagram followers by captioning one video clip, “lemme finish this song.”
Cardi B later shared a series of videos to her Instagram Stories as she sat in the back of a car and lip-synched the lyrics to “Dirty Talk” by Wynter Gordon.
She gave fans a closer look at her long pink nails as she moved her hands animatedly and sucked on one finger during part of the clip.
Her husband, Offset, was tagged in a photograph the same day by Beyoncé‘s stylist, Marni Senofonte, who joins him on the judging panel of the fashion design competition show The Hype.
