Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have announced to the world the birth of their daughter, who is named after Queen Elizabeth II and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Prince Harry’s daughter, who was born on Friday, is named Lilibet, and her middle name is Diana. When Queen Elizabeth was a child, she could not pronounce her name properly and therefore called herself Lilibet.

It is also the special nickname that the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had for Queen Elizabeth.

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry informed her Majesty that he would name his daughter after her before she was born.

Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, who weighed 7lbs and 11oz and was born in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, will be known as Lili Diana.

Princess Diana would have celebrated her 60th birthday next month.

The power couple penned a loving message on the official Archewell Foundation website where they said that baby Lili Diana is “more than we could have ever imagined.”

Omid Scobie, a journalist, who is also considered a friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, revealed that the happy parents would not be sharing the first pictures of Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor very soon because they are currently on parental leave to focus on their newborn.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received well wishes from the entire royal family.Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have all issued official messages celebrating the happy news.

Both Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, have shared their joy of having another member of the royal family.

The name chosen by Prince Harry and his wife has royal expert Robert Jobson saying that it is the peace offering that could build bridges between the family divided by two oceans and many harsh revelations.

It is claimed that baby Lili and her big brother, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, are set to make their debut on Buckingham Palace’s famous balcony during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have plans to visit England to attend the celebrations in June 2022.

Buckingham Palace has announced many festive events to mark Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne, including parades, exhibitions, and the famous Trooping the Colour that will take place on June 2nd.

Prince Harry, his wife, and their two young children are set to join the rest of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the RAF fly-past.
