Prince William and Kate Middleton have extended their congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their new royal baby.
The future king and queen of England also sent a gift to baby Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Not long after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their daughter, Lili Diana, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined other members of the royal family in congratulating the couple on their second child.
A short statement shared on Sunday by Buckingham Palace said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and the Duchess of Cornwall, had been informed of the birth and were “delighted.”
In a message shared to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Twitter account, the royals said they were “delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili” and sent “congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie.”
It has been revealed that Prince William and his wife rushed to send a special gift to their newborn niece.
A royal insider spoke to the media and said this about the touching gesture from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The source stated: “They were informed about the birth and have sent Lilibet a gift.”
When Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born, Prince William said that he was delighted for his brother to enter the sleepless nights club.
Prince William said at the time: “I wish him all the best and hope the next few days they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in their family and all the joys that come with that. We’re] absolutely thrilled and looking forward to seeing them in the next few days as things quiet down. I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”
On the Queen’s official Twitter account, a photograph from Harry and Meghan’s wedding day in 2018 was shared, along with a brief message to celebrate the arrival of Lilibet, the monarch’s 11th great-grandchild.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, wished the Sussexes well “at this special time.”
Lilibet Diana was born on Friday, June 4th at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and is “settling in at home,” according to an official statement on the Sussexes’ Archewell website at the weekend.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said they were “blessed” with the arrival of their daughter, who is “more than [they] could have ever” imagined.
They extended their thanks for the “love and prayers[…] from across the globe.”
They named their second child in honor of Queen Elizabeth II — whose nickname is Lilibet — and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who died when Prince Harry was just 13 years old.
