Meghan Markle is not going anywhere this summer despite rumors claiming otherwise. Prince Harry will once more face a disappointed and angry Queen Elizabeth II and his blood family alone after his explosive interviews and baby naming drama of Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
It was claimed by Radar Online that just weeks after giving birth to her baby, she would travel with Prince Harry to London later this month to be a secret guest at the unveiling of a statue in Princess Diana’s honor.
However, a source close to the Sussexes has stepped out to say that Meghan Markle will remain in California as Prince Harry flies solo to be at the bittersweet event.
The royal insider, who dismissed the secret trip, had the following to say to Entertainment Tonight: “Meghan has just had a baby and has no plans to travel to London for the memorial event planned for the statue unveiling in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.”
The Duke of Sussex was last in London for the funeral of his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, in April this year.
After the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah Winfrey, which had aired just weeks prior, Prince Harry was not a favorite with many members of the royal family, with some refusing to even make eye contact with him during the funeral.
The source, who spoke to Radar, revealed that the Duchess of Sussex does not want her husband to go through the same thing again when he returns to London later this month to join his older brother, Prince William, at Kensington Palace as they unveil a statue to commemorate what would have been their late mother’s 60th birthday.
Relations between the Sussexes and Buckingham Palace have reportedly gotten worse after Prince Harry’s recent interviews, where he referred to the “genetic pain and suffering” handed down through generations of the royal family. Another scandal also erupted after the pair failed to get the Queen‘s permission to name their daughter after her.
An insider said they “could only imagine” how Harry “would be treated at the big event,” set to take place on July 1st.
It was rumored that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could decide to bring along their 2-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who has not been in the UK since the couple stepped down early last year and moved initially to Canada before settling down in Montecito, California.
And new baby Lilibet Diana would remain at home, where Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is thought to be staying to help look after the children.
However, ITV Royal Producer Lizzie Robinson also denied the story with a tweet that read: “Meghan will not fly to the UK to join Harry for the unveiling of a statue of his late mother Princess Diana on July 1st, a source confirmed after a US website claimed she would be attending.”
While in London, Prince Harry will be on his own to go face-to-face with his family after his damaging truth bombs. Queen Elizabeth is also said to be frustrated by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to mislead the media with their decision to name their baby daughter after her.
Prince Harry is expected to meet with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, for lunch at Windsor Castle — an opportunity to “talk things through,” according to one royal courtier.
