Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently announced that they have welcomed a baby girl named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor .
Since then, the power couple has gone on parental leave and will take about five months from their various jobs to bond with their newborn and has not spoken to the media.
Note that Meghan Markle’s interview around Father’s Day was recorded before the birth of her daughter, Lili.
Prince Harry, who is currently in London for an event honoring his late mother, Princess Diana, has decided to speak about his baby girl for the first time.
The Duke of Sussex attended a charity event benefiting and honoring children with singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran where he shared a few details about his young children — Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Prince Harry was congratulated by the artist who recently became a father. Ed Sheeran said: “Congratulations, a girl, right? We just had a little girl ten months ago now. You’re still in the trenches now! How do you manage with two?”
Prince Harry surprised many by revealing a bit of info about his children’s personalities at the moment. He hinted that Meghan Markle has it easy with baby Lili and her hands are full with Archie.
The royal confessed: “Two is definitely a juggle. We’ve been lucky so far. She’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie is running around like crazy.”
After the birth announcement, the British royal family revealed that they were delighted over the happy news, and for many observers, it might signal the beginning of a new era for a clan that has faced a lot of challenges in recent months because of the truth bombs that were dropped in interviews and scandals over leaked conversations.
Harry’s father, Prince Charles, his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, brother Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, have all welcomed the baby news.
The joint statement from the royal family read: “The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news. Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.”
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cambridge were asked about the latest addition to the royal family, with Kate Middleton saying she “couldn’t wait to meet her new niece.”
The British family is expected to meet the baby girl next year when she travels to London with her family to take part in Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
