Queen Elizabeth Has Found A New Clever Way To Punish Meghan Markle And Prince Harry — Angry Royal Fans Say She Has Not Gone Far Enough

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Queen Elizabeth Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor Line Of Succession

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry now have an extra reason to be displeased with the way the British royal family handles things.

Seven weeks after the birth of the power couple’s daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, she still has not been added to the royal line of succession on the monarchy’s official website.

According to royal experts, Lilibet is eight in line when it comes to the throne, right after her brother, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

However, on the website, Prince Andrew is the one who is listed at this spot in the line of succession. After Archie’s birth in 2019, it only took the royal family two weeks to add his name.

Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s third child, Prince Louis, was even added faster — in twelve days.

It is evident that “Megxit” has changed a lot of things between Harry and his family, and the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey might have made things worse.

However, for many observers, not adding Lilibet’s name to the line of succession after two months is a form of punishment, especially in light of her parents’ reported desire for her to receive a royal christening.

Harry and Meghan are even said to be in a conciliatory mode when it comes to Queen Elizabeth II‘s handling of the matter. An insider told the Daily Mail: “Harry told several people that they want to have Lili christened at Windsor, just like her brother Archie. They are happy to wait until circumstances allow.”

The power couple is hoping that the christening will take place at the St George’s Chapel in Windsor, with Queen Elizabeth present. She has not indicated that she is open to the idea.

Generally, the Queen avoids attending the christening of children who are not directly in line for the throne. ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship told the Royal Rota podcast on Friday that Lilibet’s situation might be about “making a point” for the royal family.

He explained: “You have got to ask what has taken them so long. All they have got to do is hit the paragraph button and put in a different number. They must have done it before. They did it for Archie. Clearly, they did it for Louis when he was born. And they have done it for some of the other children like August that have been born as well. So where’s Lilibet? I can forgive them a week or two but a month?”

He then revealed: “We will get around to it when ready?’ It does feel like to me; maybe, they are making a point.”

For others, Queen Elizabeth has different options to punish Prince Harry and Meghan other than removing their royal titles, in light of their behavior after renouncing their duties as working members of the royal family.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told Express.co.uk: “I don’t think removing the titles would make much difference, and it would look very petty. I also don’t think it is something the Queen would want to do at this stage of her reign.”

She continued: “It would be far more insulting just to ignore them. Even excluding them from the jubilee next year gives them ammunition to criticize the monarchy.”

Angry royal fans say that Queen Elizabeth should hold the line and remove Harry’s little clan from the line of succession altogether.
