Many say it was the year’s birthday party, and both Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, were not invited, but JAY Z and Beyoncé were present.
Former President Barack Obama and his spouse, Michelle Obama, one of the most famous women in the world, enjoyed a three-day birthday bash with the crème de la crème of the celebrity and political worlds.
The event went on without a glitch at Obama’s multi-million dollar mansion at Martha’s Vineyard while causing massive controversies.
Barack and Michelle Obama were bashed because several hundred people attended the trendy affair. They appeared in leaked photos on social media maskless, hugging, kissing, and dancing closely in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
While Meghan Markle, 40, and President Obama, 60, celebrated their birthdays on the same day, August 4th, he declined to have the famous royals to the gathering.
Several royal experts were quick to explain why Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan Markle were not among the high-profile celebrities in attendance.
According to TV host and royal expert Allison Langdon, not many are surprised that the former actress and the prince were snubbed by the president.
Since “Megxit,” Prince Harry and his spouse have taken part in a series of damaging and controversial interviews that have hurt the royal family and Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Harry is currently writing a tell-all book that has the royal clan on edge. It is believed that all these controversial moves have the pair “into polarizing, divisive public figures” and persona non grata in some circles where they were once welcomed and admired.
Langdon shared: “There is nothing like a milestone birthday to figure out who your true friends are. Meghan and Harry have not been invited to President Obama’s birthday bash. Is that a surprise?”
Dickie Arbiter, a royal expert and former press spokesman for Queen Elizabeth, said that Prince Harry and his wife were never invited to the party and revealed why: “It is not a surprise at all. There was speculation they would be invited, but I don’t think they were ever even on the list. The Obamas have invited not just A-listers but the double A-listers. They have said that Barack doesn’t want any presents. What he wants is guests to donate to help young men get on the work ladder, particularly young people of color.”
He added: “You are talking about Oprah Winfrey, the Clooneys, and Rihanna. Meghan and Harry are just not in that same league of celebrity. They are not double A-listers.”
Royal expert Daniela Elser claimed: “The couple no longer simply bring with them the magic stardust of royalty but more baggage than a Louis Vuitton warehouse. Therefore, having transformed themselves into polarising, divisive public figures, are they still the prize invitees they might have been?”
Some observers have also pointed out that the former royals did not invite the Obamas to their wedding. Moreover, the retired political couple might be closer to the Queen and did not appreciate how she has been treated lately by Harry and Meghan.
