According to a recent documentary, Queen Elizabeth II and her late husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, may have been left “broken and devastated” by a decision taken by their grandson, Prince Harry.
Royal experts claimed that Queen Elizabeth and her spouse dreaded the possibility that they would “never see” their youngest great-grandchild, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
While the documentary entitled Secrets Of The Royal – The Markles vs. The Monarchy was recently broadcast, it is worth noting that many royal experts filmed their portions before Prince Philip’s death in April.
Lilibet, who is also known as simply Lili, currently resides with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their eldest child — Archie Harrison — in their luxurious mansion in Montecito, California.
However, despite her connections to the British royal family, the baby girl has not yet set foot in the UK, where the rest of her relatives reside, including her grandfather, Prince Charles, and uncle Prince William.
The little girl may never know some of her relatives because her parents decided to cut ties with the royal family.
In early 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry abandoned their positions as senior working royals and left the UK so they could be “financially independent.”
Furthermore, many started wondering if the 95-year-old Queen would ever get to see the little girl, whose name was reportedly chosen to honor both her and her grandmother, the late Princess of Wales, Diana.
Dylan Howard, royal expert and author, opined that it was not likely for the monarch to ever meet her great-granddaughter and stated: “The sad and harsh reality of this scenario is that by abdicating from the Royal Family completely, the Queen and Prince Philip may actually never see the second child. And one can only think how devastated and broken the Queen must feel about that.”
Meanwhile, fans of the Duchess of Sussex recently managed to get a small glimpse of the baby girl, as Meghan Markle released a video on her 40th birthday that showed her sitting at a desk in her home.
As a result, a couple of perceptive admirers were quick to notice the photographs that were near Markle and that one of the images showed Prince Harry with his daughter.
There is some hope that Prince Harry and his wife will make an effort to bring Archie and Lili to England in 2022 when Elizabeth II will mark seventy years of service.
Her Majesty will go in the history books for being the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
