It appears that Orlando Bloom may have stabbed Prince Harry in the back even before their unexpected friendship truly began.
And now royal experts are calling Prince Harry out to take a stand against his friend’s actions publicly.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star has decided to voice the Duke of Sussex‘s pompous and aloof character in a new and controversial animated parody that targets the British royal family and mostly eight-year-old Prince George.
In May, Prince Harry stated that he has gotten to know Bloom personally as they are neighbors in Montecito, California, and are getting along very well.
The Duke of Sussex also claimed that he and the 44-year-old actor even joined forces in their fight against paparazzi and would call each other whenever one was in sight.
However, the arrival of the new animated sitcom The Prince might put the two men’s friendship to the test, as the series makes fun of everyone from the royal family, including Prince Harry.
According to royal expert Richard Eden, it was shocking that Bloom agreed to voice the character of the Duke of Sussex, given the fact that they were friends.
The Daily Mail journalist took to social media to share his opinion by saying: “Strange world where Prince Harry and his Montecito neighbor Orlando Bloom send each other text messages moaning about “intrusion” yet Bloom stars in a TV show mocking an eight-year-old child, Prince George.”
Paul Burrell, who worked as Princess Diana‘s butler, said he was disappointed in Prince Harry for not defending his young nephew.
Burrell said he thinks the HBO cartoon could be “extremely damaging” as it targets “a young boy and mocks him.”
He stated: “It seems ironic to me that while Meghan and Harry are happy to lend their voices to supporting mental health charities, they can’t seem to speak up and defend their family.”
He also shared: “I’ve seen The Prince, and it’s extremely damaging to target a young boy and mock him in the way the cartoonists have done.”
Burrell went on to say that if it “were Archie and Lilibet being mocked,” legal action would have been taken by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have threatened lawsuits over the privacy of their children, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Meanwhile, Bloom explained that at first, he was reluctant to participate in the production of The Prince, but his spouse, Katy Perry, changed his mind by exclaiming that the sitcom was “genius.”
In addition, the actor claimed that he made up his mind about participating in the production of the series before even meeting Prince Harry.
