Meghan Markle and her spouse, Prince Harry, are aiming high after being called out by many over their PR stunt, where they failed to captivate the public while humiliating Queen Elizabeth II.
Omid Scobie, the preferred journalist of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, 36, and his wife recently did a telling interview where he explained that the pair has been working behind the scenes to deliver the goods.
Meghan Markle, 40, and Prince Harry, 36, who signed a multi-million dollar deal with Spotify and Netflix, are said to be putting the finishing touches on a series of projects that will make them Hollywood players.
Royal commentator Omid Scobie said that Netflix bosses are bragging about the fruits of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex‘s labor of love.
Speaking to Royally Obsessed, Scobie said: “All that was said to me was ‘oh man, you don’t even know the half of what they’re working on. They are aiming so high.'”
He went on to reveal what he believes the power couple will do: “I think one thing that may surprise at some point, and this is just my own guess, is where we’re going to hear some sort of movie announcement. It’s only a matter of time before they have acquired the rights to a really incredible story that they’re able to bring to life through a movie or a television drama. We’ve heard a lot about the non-scripted work but there is that whole side of the production company that is scripted.”
The author made this bold prediction about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future as Hollywood hitmakers: “It’s only a matter of time before that comes to life, and I think that’s really exciting because it’s a side of them we’ve never seen or heard of before but one they’re really eager to get into. Being able to step into Hollywood a little bit but try and do it in a much more impactful and socially conscious way. That’s going to be really interesting to me.”
The royals decided to inject some life into their filmmaking careers after it was reported that the former senior royals are turning into the butt of a joke on social media because of a video where the Queen was ridiculed.
It appears that one of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest moves was not received well by the public.
Meghan Markle celebrated her 40th birthday by sharing a video in which she conversed with comedian Melissa McCarthy and insisted on the importance of helping women returning to their workspaces.
As a result, the Duchess of Sussex announced her “40×40” project, which would involve 40 high-profile female friends of Meghan corresponding for 40 minutes with an equal number of women struggling to find a job.
However, it appears that her initiative caused some controversy as many people criticized her idea and claimed it was her latest “PR stunt.”
Fox News journalist Raymond Arroyo commented on the move with the words: “This is another excuse for brand building” and complained that “These people don’t need 40 minutes with a celebrity. They need time, not a TED talk”.
Arroyo also criticized the Duchess of Sussex for publicly denouncing the British royal family while using her title for personal gain and attention.
In addition, Prince Harry’s staged appearance at the end of the video also received backlash as many did not approve of the Duke of Sussex juggling balls in an attempt to divert Meghan from her conversation with McCarthy.
Arroyo deemed the Duke of Sussex’s role as the “most embarrassing” part of the footage and mockingly concluded: “This is Harry, who has transitioned from royal highness to royal fool.”
The two sides are not really seeking a detente.
