Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have buried the hatchet, and the two royals are now getting along just fine, despite their past disagreements.
Even though the Duchess of Cambridge made Meghan Markle cry shortly before her wedding to Prince Harry, it seems that both women have moved on and are on speaking terms again.
According to sources close to the royals, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex renewed their correspondence after Meghan contacted Kate to share her new idea about a joint collaboration for a Netflix project.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly signed lucrative contracts with Netflix and Spotify to produce various new projects such as educational movies for children and docuseries.
An insider claimed that Meghan wanted to create a documentary, which would mainly focus on “Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy.”
As a result, the Duchess of Cambridge was allegedly very flattered, and her relationship with Meghan changed for the better.
A royal source shared: “Meghan and Kate are actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often. Meghan has been talking to her about collaborating on a project for Netflix, a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy. Kate is very flattered, and it’s all very positive between.”
Many were convinced that the two duchesses were not particularly close, as it was reported that Catherine had not reached out immediately to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, in June.
However, a couple of royal experts claimed that the restoration of friendship between the two women was to be expected, especially since Catherine was known to be the “peacemaker” in the British royal family.
According to insiders, the Duchess of Cambridge’s main goal was to bring the family back together and ease Prince William‘s “stress and sadness.”
Another royal source claimed: “The Duchess hasn’t said much about Oprah at all. I think the bridesmaids’ dress comments were the least of anyone’s worries. And she’s not really the type to get het up about these sorts of things. She’s just trying to help to bring the family back together and alleviate her husband’s stress and sadness.”
