Jessica Simpson Lays It Bare And Gets Uncomfortable With New Video About Her Journey

Jessica Simpson New Music Journey Addiction

Jessica Simpson has decided to get uncomfortable and to lay bare in her latest video, where she sang her pain and struggles with addiction.

Along with her new book, Jessica Simpson has decided to return her roots with new vulnerable music.

The businesswoman has unveiled her own stripped-down version of the song “Particles” by Nothing But Thieves.

The last time Simpson released an album was in 2010, and it was a Christmas LP, so of course, fans have been eager to hear her voice again.

The diva came back with a more mature and deep sound, officially turning the chapter on her sweet pop era.

She released an accompanying music video for the track where she let her emotions take center stage.

The singer looked stunning, with her long blonde hair falling on her face and shoulders.

The actress wore a simple yet chic tank top and a few pieces of jewelry.

With her head down most of the time, the fashion designer and author sat on a chair with her legs crossed while surrounded by candles.

Holding nothing back, an emotional Jessica Simpson sang about her hard times and her fights with the bottles.

The “A Public Affair” artist sang the following heartbreaking lyrics: “…flirting with an addiction I can’t shake off. My mouth is dry, I self-medicate. This comedown won’t cure itself.”

The influencer continued: “driving you away piece by piece, day by day. Baby, tell me if I’m being strange and if I need to rearrange my particles.”

The song comes after Jessica Simpson took to Instagram, where she shared a raw and honest post about her long journey to sobriety.

She shared a makeup-free picture with no shoes while sitting in a messy living room.

In her profoundly personal caption, she explained how hard it was to quit alcohol.

She shared: “There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self-sabotage. The drinking wasn’t the issue. I was. I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power. Today I do. I have made nice with the fears and I have accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage. I am wildly honest and comfortably open. I am free.”

A source close to Simpson spoke to PEOPLE and explained that she was moved to tears after reading the comments and seeing the outpouring of support from her followers.

The pal shared: “It was very real for her. She spent half the day crying. It meant so much to her to hear from people, hear their stories, and know that she helped even one person.”

It will be interesting to see if this is the beginning of a new era.
