It is believed that despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s decision to turn down Queen Elizabeth‘s invitation, she plans to be gracious towards them.
Her Majesty will reach out with presents and warm greetings during the Christmas holiday.
Queen Elizabeth to put away childish behavior and reach out to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
While some remain hopeful for a Christmas miracle, others say, do not hold your breath that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will change their minds and travel to London to be with Queen Elizabeth II for the holidays.
Reliable sources confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had declined an invitation that was extended to them by Her Majesty to join her and the rest of the royal family for this year’s Christmas festivities.
However, despite the Sussexes’ decision to turn down Queen Elizabeth, she will remain gracious towards them and their young children, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
A royal expert has revealed that the aging Queen is not one to display childish behaviors.
As she has done in previous years, she will send gifts to California for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children.
However, royal expert Neil Sean warned that because of the royal rift between those living in London and the California residents — this time around, the exchanging gifts would be “formal.”
The royal commentator explained: “There will be some gifts but it will be very formal. There will be a gift from the Queen; she’s far too gracious to be childish to not include them in the gift package. But let’s just say whatever they do send each other over, it will be at a distance.”
Sean went on to say that the situation between the independent royals and Her Majesty is sad.
He explained: “That’s rather sad given that the Queen is 70 years on the throne and having to deal with some of the toughest decisions in her working and personal life.”
During happier times, Meghan Markle was dubbed an expert at gift-giving. According to several books on the former American actress, she delighted both Prince William and Queen Elizabeth with her selected presents.
Meghan Markle gave the Queen a singing hamster for her dog, which led to her laughter.
She gave Prince William a spoon that read: “Cereal Killer.”
According to the biography Finding Freedom: “Meghan’s biggest challenge was finding the perfect novelty gifts to amuse her new extended family. At least one of her gifts was a huge hit—a spoon for William that had ‘cereal killer’ embossed on the shallow bowl end of the utensil.”
It has been several years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has joined the royals at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate, and some say that she is saddened by their absence.
Queen Elizabeth is not getting younger and is saddened.
A handful of royal experts have publicly urged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to rethink their decision because Queen Elizabeth is 95 years old, and she is not getting any younger and needs to spend time with her great-grandchildren.
Royal commentator Gwen Flamberg told Us Weekly: “I wish that they would go for Christmas. The Queen’s Christmas brunch is always a very big deal.”
She added: “I’m not quite sure if it will go off as it did before the pandemic because the pandemic is still going on. But let’s just say she’s not getting any younger, and I would hope they would spend ample time together.”
The British Royal Family still has a lot of work to mend those broken relationships.
