By the looks of it, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will never hear the last of it after they declined Queen Elizabeth II‘s gracious invitation.
The Monarch invited the power couple to spend the Christmas holiday with the royal family, and they said no.
Since then, Queen Elizabeth has been making what seems to be petty moves, including lending Kate Middleton some of her priceless jewelry pieces — a privilege that was not given to Meghan Markle.
Meghan Markle gets a royal snub from Queen Elizabeth.
It seems that Queen Elizabeth II is making petty moves since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned down her invitation to spend the holidays with her in London.
First, Her Majesty surprised the world by attending two royal christenings despite her recent health scare.
The move was seen by many as a slap for the California residents who have been trying to obtain the religious ceremony for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
It is claimed that Prince William vetoed the christening of his baby niece, arguing it was not the right time for the Queen and the royal family.
Yet, weeks later, Queen Elizabeth was seen looking joyous as she partook in the christenings of her great-grandsons.
Last week, Kate Middleton hosted the “Together at Christmas” carol concert at Westminister Abbey to benefit those who risked their health to help the community during the pandemic.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a red coat dress. However, what caught everyone’s attention was her jewelry.
Prince William’s spouse dazzled in a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that were lent to her by the Queen.
Prince William and his wife also arrived at the event in one of The Queen’s luxury and vintage vehicles.
Royal expert Daniela Else weighed in on the matter and revealed that the Queen has permanently lent the priceless earrings to Kate Middleton.
As for Meghan Markle, she has only been bestowed that honor on her wedding day. The Queen lent her a wedding tiara after a huge row that left some staff in tears and opened the door to an outburst from Prince Harry.
It is claimed that Meghan Markle did not get the tiara she requested from the Queen’s massive collection.
Ms. Elser said: “While the former actress might own pieces which had belonged personally to Diana, Princess of Wales, getting to frock up in some enormous sparklers from the royal trove was a perk she never enjoyed.”
Many saw the move as a snub to the former actress but also an indication as to how much The Queen trusts Kate Middleton.
Queen Elizabeth trusts Kate Middleton.
Another royal expert Joe Little explained via Us Weekly that Her Majesty, 95, sees Kate Middleton as trustworthy, like a safe pair of hands.
He revealed: “She’s been a member of the royal family for ten years now. I think given that all that’s going on in the past few years in the royal family in terms of the fallouts … the Queen has great trust in Kate.”
He went on to say: “Kate has found her own niche within the royal family. And she focuses on things that mean a great deal to her that she feels that she can give something to the charity … in a great way.”
These moves will only create more tensions between the two camps.
