Beyoncé has been hard at work promoting her new Ivy Park collection. She recently released a short video showing her in a tight latex bodysuit, sitting on a sofa with a playful look in her eyes.
The whole set has been designed to match her attire, with some fans pointing out that a lot of effort was invested into crafting the perfect atmosphere and setting for the photoshoot.
Still, some were skeptical of what Beyoncé is actually showing off, pointing out that the suit was a bit less tasteful than they had anticipated from someone like her.
In general, Queen Bey has been getting some mixed reception for her recent ventures into fashion together with Adidas, although she certainly seems to be enjoying the attention, and Adidas have not been complaining either.
Some of the music superstar’s fans have also been critical of how she has seemingly abandoned her music career in favor of her work in fashion, although that is clearly not the case so far.
Beyoncé has been adamant that she is not going anywhere with regard to her music, although it is not entirely clear what she might have in mind for a schedule for her next releases right now.
It is indeed hard to argue that she has been putting a lot of focus on her fashion career lately, although it is understandable that she might want to branch out and experiment with new things, especially ones that allow her to leverage the fame she has gathered from her time as a singer.
Despite her hiatus from the musical scene, her husband, rap mogul Jay-Z, still thinks the world of her. The hip-hop music icon believes that she is the closest artist when it comes to Michael Jackson‘s legacy as an entertainer.
Jay-Z said during a Twitter Spaces sit-down with Alicia Keys: “Bey’s going to be mad at this for saying this, but Michael Jackson never had a Coachella. She’s an evolution of him because she watched him at 9. And the kids are the same.”
He continued: “Find me a concert that’s as culturally relevant and thrilling as Coachella,” he urged. “Beyoncé is gonna be one of the best singers we ever heard because she is such a student.”
This is not the first time the “Run This Town” singer has compared his wife to Michael Jackson. In a 2011 interview with Miami’s 99 Jamz, he did say something similar.
Back then, he stated: “What I’ve learned from her is similar to what I learned from Mike [Jackson]. I know that’s blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator — but I think she’s like the second coming.”
The billionaire’s comments have sparked an intense debate on social media, with Beyoncé’s supporters, known as The BeyHive, going toe to toe with Jackson’s defenders.
Nuanced voices say it is only normal for a husband to think his spouse is the greatest in their field.
The “Halo” singer might be able to settle the debate once and for all with the release of a new album. For now, fashion is the main vehicle for her artistic expression.
