Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton will visit the United States in 2022.
The future King of England and his spouse, Duchess Kate, are coming to America for the second annual Earthshot Prize event.
The Duke of Cambridge, his wife, and their three children will visit Stateside in the fall of next year for the event.
Prince William announced that his environmental initiative would move to the US but did not say in which state it would take place.
The exact date of the second ceremony has yet to be revealed. Many believe that the lavish event will either be held in California or New York.
If Prince William has the event in California, it will be a complicated situation because it would be expected that they stay with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Markle and the British prince moved to California in 2020 and have purchased a $14 million mansion in Montecito.
However, a royal expert has weighed in on the trip and said it would be a conundrum for the royal couple.
In a new interview, a royal pundit was asked if Prince William and Kate Middleton would be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s guests during the visit.
The expert, Jonathan Sacerdoti, was raw and blunt and said: “Somewhat unlikely.”
He revealed that the Duke of Cambridge and his spouse are setting themselves up for trouble and a PR nightmare.
He explained that he firmly believes that the independent royals will reach out to the Cambridges, and they would be placed in an impossible situation.
The royal commentator said that Prince and his wife would come out in the losing end.
He told Us Weekly: “It’s like so many of these things — it’s a sort of lose-lose situation. If they get invited, and they decline, it seems petty and nasty. And if they don’t get invited, it seems petty and nasty from the other side. And if they do accept such an invitation and something goes terribly wrong, that seems like a bad idea. I can’t quite see how this would work.”
The news of the visit comes after multiple reliable sources claimed that the brothers are still estranged.
Author Omid Scobie, who is said to be a friend of Meghan Markle, told Entertainment Tonight that the princes are still estranged and added: “The relationship between Harry and William is still very much one of distance. I don’t just mean physical [distance], across the Atlantic, but they are not talking that much, and that is exactly how sources close to William have put it.”
Another source close to Kate Middleton revealed to PEOPLE Magazine that Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship has suffered.
The next year might reveal a lot about the tensions in the British royal family.
