Whether she likes it or not, Meghan Markle finds herself competing with other members of the royal family.
Along with her husband, Prince Harry and their young son, Archie, stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States.
The pair has since purchased a mansion in California, and their little family has grown with the arrival of their daughter, Lilibet Diana, in early June.
Despite being thousands of miles away from the British royal family, Meghan Markle often finds herself competing for accolades and titles.
It has recently been revealed that Meghan Markle picked up the title of “the most intelligent British royal.” The former American actress landed the title via a study conducted by Oxford Royale.
The research used the QS World University Rankings to more or less rate the universities where the British royal family studied.
The Duchess of Sussex took the top spot because she graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
The Midwestern school ranked number 30 on a list of over 1350 institutions in the QS World University Rankings.
Prince Harry’s wife earned herself a double degree in theatre studies and international relations.
Meghan Markle was followed by Kate Middleton, who earned her diplomas at the Marlborough College and The University of St Andrew’s.
Prince William took the third spot — he studied in the same university as his wife. The school attended by the future King and Queen of England ranked 91 out of the over 1350 universities on the QS World list.
Prince Harry was not mentioned in the list because he did not attend the university. He opted to join the army instead.
Oxford Royale issued a statement on its findings that read: “Life as a royal isn’t always an easy job and involves a lot of dealing with extensive scrutiny and life in the public spotlight, and Meghan Markle’s academic strengths have equipped her perfectly for this role.”
Oxford Royale went on to praise the Duchess of Sussex for using her fame to shed light on multiple causes near to her heart.
The statement continued: “While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have resigned from their roles as working royals, they have captured the interest and attention of the world, and Meghan’s desire to use her platform to raise awareness over serious world issues reflects her intelligence, analytical mind, and educational pedigree.”
With Markle’s educational background, some are convinced that she will seek a political office down the road.
