In 2022, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, will travel to America on official business to represent Queen Elizabeth II.
It is believed that Prince William will reunite with his brother, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle at some point, but it will not be as fancy and glitzy as royal fans expect it to be.
Out of respect for the Queen, there might be no pictures of the meeting between the two brothers and their respective wives.
Last month, Prince William announced the trip to the U.S. while hosting the first Earthshot Prize ceremony in London.
The royal couple will make the journey to attend the second awards ceremony next fall in the U.S.
Even though the trip is many months away, a few details have been revealed because the heir to the throne and his spouse will be taking part in an official royal tour.
Royal insiders, who spoke to the author and commentator Duncan Larcombe, revealed that Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge will abide by the strict royal protocols.
In an interview with OK! magazine, the journalist revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would not have a big public reunion with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Cambridges will not disrespect the Queen or their country by having Prince Harry and his wife be part of an official royal tour after announcing to the world that they had quit their roles as working members of the royal family.
He explained: “An American trip was inevitable because they’re our closest ally, but it’s tricky because as things stand, there’s no way on earth that Prince William would want to share any part of an official royal tour representing the Queen, Britain and the Commonwealth with Prince Harry.”
Prince Harry and the former American actress will have to skip all big public events because they have become too political. The Queen had requested that the couple remain apolitical like all other members of the royal family. However, Meghan Markle is now a private citizen with political ambitions and has, therefore, ignored the Queen’s demands.
He added: “What we’re seeing are increasing signs that Harry and Meghan are setting themselves up almost as a satellite royal family in America. Meghan trades on her title to try to influence major political figures in America. Harry is still Prince Harry and is able to be whisked around New York like they were recently, as though nothing has changed.”
Larcomb went on to say: “But of course, they’re not royals, and what, we’re being told by palace officials, won’t happen is for Harry and Meghan to join William and Kate for any official part of this visit.”
Due to the fact that the visit will be organized in an official royal capacity, Prince William will have to meet Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and maybe their two young children in a private setting.
If Prince William travels to California with his wife, they could meet the Sussex family in a hotel or maybe at their Montecito mansion.
However, the happy family reunion will not take place in front of cameras.
The author shared: “We don’t know the details of the trip yet, but last time William and Kate went to America, they went to a red carpet event with rising stars of British film in L.A. Even if there’s an event arranged in L.A. this time, I’m told that Harry and Meghan wouldn’t be a part of it unless they were invited separately and privately. So there’s going to be no reunion of the fab four, that’s for certain. There will be a lot of focus on the visit purely because of the rift between the two brothers.”
He also revealed that the power couple would not be traveling with their three young children for the following reason: “When Prince William was a baby he spent his six weeks on a trip to Australia and New Zealand with his parents being paraded in front of the cameras. I think he wants to avoid that for his children.”
This is setting up to become an interesting family summit.
