While Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle love the new lives they are building in California with their two children, they have one major regret — the stunning mansion they purchased together.
In early 2020, the prince and the former American actress spilled some major ink upon announcing that they were stepping down from their royal duties.
The independent royal family briefly lived in Canada before moving to California. After signing a handful of lucrative deals, Prince Harry, his spouse, and their young son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, moved to a massive mansion in Montecito.
It is believed that the power couple paid almost $15 million for the sprawling mansion located in the exclusive neighborhood of Montecito.
Lush green gardens surround the gorgeous property that overlooks the ocean. The mansion is equipped with a wine cellar, a luxurious pool, an impressive tennis court, a massive gym, a home theater, a spa, and a large separate guesthouse.
A source close to the royal couple has revealed their buyer’s remorse, and the pair is looking forward to selling the mansion.
Therefore, the activists are not over the moon with the location and are looking for rich buyers to unload the home.
A source with ties to Markle and the Brtish prince told the Daily Mirror: “They are thinking of selling their house there. However, it won’t be on the market because of who they are, and it’s only being shown to people who are confirmed with funds and are serious buyers.”
The insider added Prince Harry and his spouse are hoping to find a new home in the same area and added: “They want to stay in the neighborhood or nearby, but they aren’t over the moon about the house and the location.”
According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, the duo might regret the massive purchase but are delighted to flee the toxic royal life.
The author said this about the royal renegades: “I am hearing that, despite it all, Harry is very happy with his lot. He has managed to break away from the ‘toxic’ royal life, which is what his mother always wanted to do but was never able to.”
She also pointed out that despite their deals with Netflix and Spotify, they are spending a lot of money on security and may not be as wealthy as people assume.
It is unclear if their financial situation will change their relationship with the British Royal Family.
