Prince Harry recently dropped the bombshell that he plans to sue the British government.
It is the first time in history that a royal family member will drag the administration and, therefore, Queen Elizabeth II to court.
The Duke of Sussex decided to file the lawsuit after he and his family were denied round-the-clock police protection from UK officials.
Prince Harry confirmed that the Home Office has turned down his offer to pay for his and his family’s security whenever he travels to London.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry lost the privilege of having continued security provided by the UK after they stepped down from their royal duties and moved to California.
In a lengthy statement issued by Prince Harry, he explained that he hopes to travel to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two young children — Archie and baby Lilibet Diana.
However, the Sussexes are “unable to return to his home” because it is too dangerous, according to the statement.
Prince Harry’s statement made it clear that as a former soldier and a high-profile member of the British royal family, he has many serious threats against him and his wife and two children.
Not willing to put his family at risk, since stepping down from his royal duties, Prince Harry has traveled to England alone.
He made two trips in 2021 — he joined the other royals for Prince Philip‘s funeral, and along with his brother, Prince William, he took part in the unveiling of a statue in honor of their late mother, Princess Diana.
Many saw the official statement issued by Prince Harry’s legal team as a sign that he and his spouse were eager to return to London and maybe spend some time with Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the royal family.
However, royal expert and famed author Phil Dampier read the statement differently.
The royal biographer did an interview and revealed that Prince Harry had offered his wife the perfect excuse to never step foot in London again.
Despite the fact that law experts predict that Prince Harry will lose his court battle against the British government, he is willing to suffer the humiliating loss and create another royal headache for Her Majesty, to ensure that Meghan Markle can stay in California the next time he has to return home for a significant occasion.
Talking to Sun Online, the expert stated that the Duke of Sussex’s legal action against the British government is the perfect situation to create a “very good excuse” for Markle not coming back.
He shared: “I don’t think Meghan will ever come back to this country, and I think this is a very good excuse for not coming back – I don’t think realistically (Harry) expects to win this case.”
He went on to say: “Getting his protection reinstated would set a precedent, and so it gives them the perfect opportunity to say we can’t come to platinum jubilee celebrations. Harry might come over, but it gives Meghan a good excuse not to come and also not to bring the children.”
It was claimed that Queen Elizabeth had invited Prince Harry and his family to attend the celebrations around her Jubilee in the summer of 2022; time will tell if they make the efforts to be present.
