Queen Elizabeth Cancels Major Event After Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Latest Bold Statement

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Queen Elizabeth Statement

Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine has forced Queen Elizabeth II to cancel a major event planned for this year.

There is a possibility the Queen made a move after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took the lead and ignored all royal rules by commenting on the atrocity of the events taking place in Ukraine.

The aging Queen had scheduled to meet with more than 500 members of the diplomatic corps next month.

Queen Elizabeth and other royal family members were set to welcome the large group of dignitaries at Windsor Castle to talk about the state of the world, their relationships with the UK, and hold discussions on climate change and critical humanitarian causes.

The annual diplomatic reception was supposed to include many high-profile politicians, ambassadors, and presumably royals from other countries.

However, UK’s Foreign Secretary had strongly advised Queen Elizabeth to postpone the gathering as the deadly conflict between Russia and Ukraine rages on.

The lavish reception was originally set to take place on March 2nd. On Saturday, Buckingham Palace shared an official statement confirming that Her Majesty had postponed the event.

The brief statement about the delay read in full: “The Queen has accepted the Foreign Secretary’s advice that the Diplomatic Reception at Windsor on Wednesday, March 2nd should be postponed.”

Her Majesty did not say if or when the event would be rescheduled.

It is believed that the Palace was quick to share an explanation behind the cancellation of the annual gathering to avoid any confusion related to the Queen’s health.

Last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the 95-year-old monarch tested positive for COVID-19 and has been hit with mild symptoms.

The Queen, who has been fully vaccinated and had a booster shot, is expected to make a speedy recovery.

For almost a week, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his soldiers have launched a full war on Ukraine and its people.

According to reports, the war has led to the killing of 198 Ukrainians, and more than 1,000 have been wounded.

Queen Elizabeth and the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, have yet to publicly comment on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

However, other royal members have decided to break with the unwritten rule that they should not comment on political matters.

Renegade royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were the first to release a statement in support of Ukraine.

The rebellious activists said: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this breach of international and humanitarian law and encourage the global community and its leaders to do the same.

Saturday night, the brave Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to the stage at the 2022 NAACP Image Awards to accept the President’s Award and said it out loud – they stand with Ukraine.

Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, followed in the Sussexes’ footsteps with their own statement backing Ukrainian’s heroic President’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said: “In October 2020, we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future. Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”

The younger royals are changing things.
