There are high rumors that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, will be attending the Oscars, which will take place later today after the bosses of the event made an attractive offer.
Reports claimed that Markle and her husband would steal the show by being the ones giving out the most significant honor of the night — Best Picture gong.
The royal activists are also allegedly set to deliver a powerful speech at 94th Academy Awards ceremony about the ongoing war in Ukraine.
However, as they get ready to hit the stage of the most prestigious event in Hollywood, tongues are wagging.
Many royal commentators have made it clear that Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to appear at the soirée will be hit with massive backlash.
According to a royal expert, Prince Harry will be modeling with celebrities while Markle will be parading in a glamorous gown just days after they slapped Queen Elizabeth in the face.
Last week, Prince Harry issued a statement explaining that he and his family would not attend Prince Philip‘s memorial service.
It is believed that the former soldier opted not to travel to England with his family because of security issues.
Prince Harry has sued Queen Elizabeth’s government over their refusal to let him pay for adequate security while in his home country.
A royal commentator has slammed Prince Harry by saying that “there will be outrage” if he does attend the Oscars.
Appearing on the Australian morning show Sunrise, Angela Mollard said: “There’s a lot of talks; it’s going to go ahead, but can you really turn up and stand on the stage at the Oscars and not turn up for your grandfather’s memorial. I’ve got a problem with that. You do all the glory and handshaking with the celebrities but your own family.”
The heads of the Academy Awards pulled out all the stops to make the offer attractive for Markle and her spouse, and Netflix was delighted for the following reason: “Netflix were incredibly keen for their two big-name signings to be involved with this year’s Oscars. For the first time ever, streaming services, especially Netflix, have a chance of cleaning up and winning some big gongs. What better endorsement than for Meghan to be up there on stage?”
The source added: “Quite a way to justify their $147 million salary. Meghan is a huge supporter of women and championing them, so Best Actress was an obvious category for her. Sadly, though, as soon as Kristen Stewart got the nod, she couldn’t possibly go on stage and risk handing over an award to the woman who played her husband’s late mother. So that idea was scrapped.”
It is still unclear if the renegade royals will be at the ceremony because the list of presenters has been released, and their names are not mentioned.
