Prince Harry‘s most recent interview has come back to bite him on so many levels. Last week, the Duke of Sussex sat down with Hoda Kotb of the TODAY Show while in The Hague to promote the Invictus Games, where he stated that he had found a new home.
The British prince and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to California in 2020, following “Megxit.”
The couple purchased a multi-million dollar mansion in Montecito, where they are raising their two children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.
Prince Harry told the TV host that he had found peace of mind and a place to call home in Montecito, California.
Markle’s husband said that he and his family are building a new life in the area. And he gleefully revealed that the community with open arms has welcomed him.
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, confided that “home for me now is, for the time being, is in the States.”
He shared that he loves the lifestyle that California offers and he “couldn’t deny the impact of his life with his two kids, Archie and Lilibet.”
With the pandemic and war raging in certain parts of Europe, Prince Harry said he is grateful to feel “massively at peace” in Montecito.
He concluded the segment by praising the welcoming community by saying: “We’ve been welcomed with open arms, and it’s got such a great community up in Santa Barbara.”
The interview appears to have some backlash from anonymous members of the community.
A few neighbors of the royal couple have decided to speak out, and they are refuting the claims made by Queen Elizabeth II‘s grandson.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “haven’t become part of the community,” revealed a person who lives close by.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly rarely seen in public in Montecito.
One neighbor, who spoke to British gossip columnist Richard Mineards who lives in Montecito, claimed that the Sussex couple is not often seen in the area.
He said the powerful pair has “been a no-show” since relocating to the ultra-exclusive neighborhood.
He told the Times: “Harry and Meghan haven’t become part of the community, and I think a lot of people are bristling about that, really. It’s such a lovely place to go out, and they’ve been a no-show. There is this big question of, ‘Where are they?'”
However, there is a possibility this might change sooner than later, and Prince Harry will be seen in public. It has been reported that he has joined the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club.
Famous polo player Andrew Bossom said this of Prince Harry’s decision to join the club, it “would be a huge step into the local community for him.”
However, then again, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are full of surprises, might just pack up and move to another place.
Rumors have been flying around claiming that they are interested in selling their stunning mansion.
