It is being claimed that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, will be the ones helping usher in a new era and reign of the British Monarchy because Prince Charles cannot do it without them.
Last week, Prince Charles gave a glimpse of his reign as he performed his first major constitutional duty of the British Monarchy.
Prince Charles stepped in for Queen Elizabeth and delivered her speech at the State Opening of Parliament.
Queen Elizabeth has started the succession process, and Prince Charles’s close allies have revealed that he will be a very different ruler from his mother.
Sources with ties to Prince Charles said he would slim down the Monarchy by having only a handful of working royals.
The future King is also looking for ways to modernize the Monarchy — and that is where Prince Harry and Markle come in — through the front door.
One of the biggest problems the Monarchy has to deal with is its embarrassing colonial past.
And Prince William and Kate Middleton confirmed that they were not the ones to talk about slavery and reparations during their disastrous recent Caribbean tour.
Middleton and Prince William were hit with protests by people who see them as wealthy White British people who benefited directly from slavery.
Prince William and his spouse are not genetically equipped to do the job — Meghan Markle, whose mother is a Black woman, can step in. Prince Harry is the father of two mixed-race children.
He has become an ally of the African-American community with his activism and has done charitable works in Africa, spanning over a decade.
For these reasons and more, famed author Tina Brown believes that Prince Harry and Markle will be huge parts of Prince Charles’s reign.
The royal expert said: “My guess is Charles is really going to want them back—sort of need them back, actually—because Harry and Meghan were huge assets to the whole royal repertoire, quite frankly. They had a young appeal that was very, very potent in the country.”
Royal author and expert Said Quinn previously weighed in by saying that Prince Charles will have to create an unprecedented option for his son and Markle — a hybrid that ties royal life and being financially independent.
He shared: “We’ve already heard Charles say he wants to streamline the royal family, [to] modernize it. I think Meghan and Harry are hoping…Charles will be open to [them being] part-time royals, which is what they wanted from the start. Of course, the queen—who grew up with this sense that you’re either in fully or out fully—she wouldn’t allow [it]…Charles may well allow this.”
He continued: “They could do that for half the year and, you know, do their other stuff in America.”
Meghan Markle stated in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that it was hers and Prince Harry’s wish to be part-time royals with real careers to be financially independent.
She claimed: “We never left the family, and we only wanted to have the same type of role that exists…We said, specifically, we’re stepping back from senior roles.”
She added: “We weren’t reinventing the wheel here; we were saying, ‘Okay, this isn’t working for everyone. We’re in a lot of pain; they can’t provide us with the help that we need. We can just take a step back.” She also mentioned that the couple had wanted to emulate the royal family members “who earn a living, live on palace grounds, can support the Queen if and when called upon. Our plan was to do this forever.”
It seems that Prince William’s inability to help his father will make way for Markle and Prince Harry to have their wish.
