It is a known fact that Meghan Markle, since a very young child, was not one to be told what she should and should not do.
It was claimed that many in the royal family, including Prince William, viewed Prince Harry‘s wife as too political.
Well, ahead of their reunion next week for Queen Elizabeth‘s Jubilee, Markle made a move that will undoubtedly ruffle some feathers again.
On Thursday, the former actress, who is said to be interested in becoming president of the United States, left her California home and briefly traveled to Uvalde, Texas.
Markle paid her respects to the innocent children who lost their young lives in yet another senseless mass shooting at Robb Elementary School.
A total of 21 lives perished at Robb Elementary School — 19 students and two heroic teachers, Eva Mireles and Irma Garcia — were gunned down while trying to shield the children with their bodies.
Photos showed an emotional Meghan Markle with her head down as she laid white roses at the memorial site in front of Robb Elementary School.
The somber Meghan, Duchess of Sussex then walked around and read the names of the young victims written on the memorial headstones.
Markle also went to the Uvalde community center, hosting a blood drive to help the victims. It is not known if she donated blood, but it has been confirmed that she donated food and beverages.
A spokesperson for Markle explained that she decided to make the important trip because, as a mother of two young children, she deemed it necessary to “extend her condolences and support to the Texas community during this difficult time.”
Markle and the Duke of Sussex are the parents of three-year-old son Archie and 11-month-old daughter Lilibet Diana.
It is not known if Prince Harry was in Texas with his wife. Markle was praised loudly by many for her brave and kind gesture, and others slammed it as another PR stunt that would irk the royal family.
Recently, two royal experts revealed that Markle’s political views and drive were the reasons for her clash with Prince William, who deemed that they did not fit with his vision of the monarchy.
Prince William was said to be concerned by Markle’s decision to voice her opinion on various topics, and it led to a massive blowout with Prince Harry.
Vanity Fair‘s Dynasty hosts — Katie Nicholl and Erin Vanderhoof — discussed Prince William’s issues with his sister-in-law on a recent episode of the program.
Vanderhoof said: “William’s issues with Meghan seen to go beyond his conflict with his younger brother and Meghan’s charismatic approach. This didn’t come out until Robert Lacey reported it later in 2020. According to Lacey, William thought Meghan’s political causes were too trendy and disharmonious.”
She went on to talk about the nasty argument that Prince William had with his brother because he wanted to silence Markle.
The royal observer claimed: “[These were] exemplified by that 2019 issue of British Vogue she [Meghan] edited. It didn’t go with his [William’s] vision of what the monarchy should be. When William mentioned this to Harry, it apparently caused a really bad argument”.
Katie Nicholl added: “Well, I think for William, some of Meghan’s causes might have veered too close to politics. But she was never going to stop speaking out about the things that mattered to her. Let’s remember we are dealing with someone who has been speaking against sexism on the news since she was 11-years-old”.
The royal author shared: “Meghan has said that women have a voice, they need to be empowered, and she’s going to use her voice. We heard it from the very beginning when she said she wanted to hit the ground running, which is exactly what she did.”
In a matter of days, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will reunite with Prince William for the Queen’s Jubilee.
Many are wondering will the heir to the throne discuss Markle’s political statements and aspirations.
