Britney Spears got married to her fiancé, Sam Asghari, on Thursday afternoon.
According to multiple reliable mediate outlets, including TMZ and PEOPLE Magazine, the couple opted for a small private ceremony in Los Angeles, California.
The big day started out with a bang with Spears’s first husband, Jason Alexander, being arrested outside her home as he attempted to crash the wedding.
A source told Page Six that Spears was “shaken” by the incident but refused to let it “get her down.” Spears’s second ex-husband also grabbed headlines.
In a statement issued by Britney Spears’s ex-spouse, Kevin Federline, it was revealed that her two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, would not attend the wedding.
The attorney explained that while Federline and his sons are happy for Spears and Asghari, they would not be present when they exchange their vows.
The surprising statement did not say why Spears’s two children would not be part of the ceremony.
The lawyer stated: “Although the boys will not be in attendance, Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward.”
The pop sensation is at war with her family over how they treated her during her 13-year conservatorship and did not invite her mother, Lynn Spears, father, Jamie Spears, or sister Jamie Lynn Spears to the ceremony.
In her testimony in court and in lengthy videos on social media, Britney Spears revealed that during the conservatorship, she fought tooth and nail to regain control of her life, her money, and her right to be married and have children and her sister failed to support her.
However, it is believed that her older brother, Bryan Spears, was present.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari planned an intimate ceremony in the backyard of her mansion in Thousand Oaks with about 60 guests that included Madonna, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, and Donatella Versace.
Spears had previously revealed that Versace would design her wedding dress.
The music superstar, 40, and the actor and fitness trainer, 28, have been able to keep much of the details about the nuptials a secret.
However, on Mother’s Day, Spears posted a photo of her stunning veil, and her future husband teased fans with a message that said that they had set a date for the wedding but “nobody will know until the day after.”
Sam Asghar took the same decision to keep his wedding proposal private.
He later explained his decision: “I didn’t want anybody to know and anybody to interfere in any way whatsoever, so it was between me and her.”
Fans are hoping that Spears will find true happiness.
