It seems that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are slightly remorseful about their behavior which some view as insulting towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
Reliable royal sources in England confirmed what the world already knew — Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their three children did not interact with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
It has been hinted that Prince William and his family made no efforts to meet their niece, Lilibet Diana, or spend time with their nephew, Archie.
To add insult to injury, Prince Harry and Markle threw a small party for Lilibet Diana’s first birthday and invited Prince William, his wife, and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but they did not attend.
The child celebrated her birthday on June 4th at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Markle and his spouse had close friends and family over for a picnic-style party and invited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with their children.
The Cambridges rejected the olive branch and said they could not drop by even for a few minutes to meet Lilibet because they had scheduled plans at Cardiff Castle.
On the day of the birthday party, Kate Middleton and Prince William, along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, made an appearance in Wales to represent the royal family.
The story of Kate Middleton and Prince William not seeing their niece during the trip has been making headlines.
Royal expert Christopher Andersen spoke to Us Weekly about the unfortunate event by saying that it cast a negative light on the heir to the throne and his wife.
He told the media outlet: “William and Kate made no effort at all to introduce Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to [Lilibet]. As far as I know, nobody believes they spoke [to each other].”
The not-so-positive revelation about Kate Middleton and Prince William has pushed them to make a rare move to dispute the snub.
A source close to Kate Middleton and Prince William has spoken to ET and explained that it was not a calculated, heartless decision not to attend Lilibet Diana’s birthday.
The royal insider revealed to the publication: “It’s simply a coincidence they fell on the same day. There was no intended slight.”
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth met Lilibet twice — when she arrived in London and on the eve of her first birthday celebrations.
A source shared a few details about the meetings between Her Majesty and her two great-grandchildren:”Harry and Meghan visited the queen at Windsor Castle with Lilibet and Archie. After reluctantly pulling out of Party at the Palace, spending time with her great-grandchildren and seeing Lilibet turn 1 added some light to her day. She thinks they’re adorable and gave Lili and Archie gifts.”
The tension between the two brothers appears to be at an all-time high because of “Megxit” and the bombshell interviews.
Oddly enough, in late April, Prince Harry and Markle made a brief trip to London to meet with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, and by sheer coincidence, The Cambridges were also away on a ski trip.
Prince William and Kate Middleton took their children to Courchevel, French Alps.
