Justin Bieber Asks for Prayers, Reveals Battle With Paralyzed Face And Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Type 2

Justin Bieber Paralyzed Face Tour Postponed

Justin Bieber has announced that he has a long road to recovery in a video he shared on his verified Instagram account on Friday.

The Canadian pop star appeared in a video where he explained to his fans that he had contracted Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 2.

Before getting into the details of his medical condition, Bieber revealed to his fans that one side of his face was completely paralyzed.

Justin Bieber could not blink or smile or move one side of his face because he had paralysis.

Bieber asked for prayers as he went through this challenging ordeal.

The “One Less Lonely Girl” singer also pleaded with his adoring supporters to understand that he had to postpone his tour.

The two-time Grammy winner shared: “This virus attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis. As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face; this nostril will not move. So there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 2 “occurs when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of your ears. In addition to the painful shingles rash, and hearing loss in the affected ear.”

The “Heartbreaker” artist addressed the thousands of concert ticket holders upset over the recent cancellations of three shows from his 2022 Justice World Tour due to the illness.

Two shows at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and a stop at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., have been rescheduled.

He said that he was “physically, obviously, not capable of doing them” and added: “This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case, but, obviously, my body’s telling me I’ve got to slow down. I hope you guys understand. I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to a hundred percent so that I can do what I was born to do.”

He thanked his supporters for being patient and explained that he had been doing facial exercises to help.

According to health experts, rapid treatment of the syndrome can reduce “the risk of complications, which can include permanent facial muscle weakness and deafness.”

Bieber became even more emotional as he revealed that he did not know how long it would take to recover.

He continued by saying: “We don’t know how much time it’s gonna be, but it’s gonna be ok, and I have hope, and I trust God, and I trust that this is all going to, it’s all for a reason, and I’m not sure what that is right now, but in the meantime, I’m gonna rest. I love you guys, peace.”

Prior to posting the video, Justin Bieber wrote a brief message where he stated that the rare neurological disorder is making it hard for him to do simple things like eating.

The 28-year-old entertainer revealed: “Been getting progressively harder to eat, which has been extremely frustrating. Please pray for me.”

In March, Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber, faced a major health scare. The model suffered a mini-stroke due to a small blood clot in her brain.

Hailey Bieber underwent surgery to close the hole.
