Multiple media outlets have confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been working on a docuseries/reality series for Netflix.
Sources told Page Six that Markle and Prince Harry would be shooting scenes from their California home.
The pair signed a multi-million dollar contract with the streaming giant in late 2021 and are expected to deliver a solid project that will bring ratings.
In the past months, Netflix has lost many subscribers, and the company has been forced to cancel multiple movies and series.
Prince Harry and Markle were not spared — the Duchess‘s first animated series, Pearl, inspired by her life, was canned.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are under pressure to provide the Netflix bosses with highly captivating content and had a tough time doing so at Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee because of several bans and the attentive and no-nonsense Buckingham Palace aides.
However, it seems that by sheer luck or unluck, the British people have given them a topic that will delight the heads of Netflix.
According to a royal expert, Prince Harry and his wife were hoping to obtain two historical shots that featured Queen Elizabeth with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
However, the Queen‘s aides made that impossible. The renegade royals were also banned from appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with Her Majesty, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Charles.
Royal expert Russell Myers claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix plans were dismantled during the Jubilee festivities, and it created a messy situation.
Speaking to TODAY, he stated: “The Queen did get to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet. There was no official photography being placed, but the reports were that Harry and Meghan did want their friend Misan Harriman to come and have a picture with the Queen.”
He went on to say: “Of course, that would have been a nice family moment, but the palace was absolutely adamant that it couldn’t take place. You can’t blame them because Harry and Meghan are still rumored to be doing this fly-on-the-wall documentary with Netflix. It’s all getting quite messy.”
Yet, Queen Elizabeth might have inadvertently still provided Markle and her husband with a lively topic that would stir debate.
Britons, who are angry with Markle and Prince Harry because of “Megxit” and the subsequent interviews that followed, have given them an interesting topic for their highly anticipated show.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were booed when they left Queen Elizabeth’s Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, and it is believed that it will be a highly discussed embarrassing moment on the Netflix series.
Royal expert Neil Sean said on his YouTube channel that the bosses at Netflix, Spotify, and Penguin Random House would want Markle and Prince Harry’s reaction to the painful incident.
He explained: “As members of the Royal Family, you are used to being warmly welcomed at events, and any protests or unwelcome reactions are controlled by the police. But as celebrities, you can’t really control the crowds. And that is what happened when Harry and Meghan rocked up outside St Paul’s Cathedral as part of the Thanksgiving Service.”
He also claimed: “When they got back to the States, they worried about your perception, especially to company bosses at Netflix, Spotify, and Penguin Random House, and they have to explain exactly where those boos came from.”
He added: “Harry and Meghan’s team have to explain away to people why they were booed. According to a very good source, this unwelcome reaction came to Harry and Meghan as a very big shock. They found out they were not as well-loved as they thought. That is not to say they do not have fans in the UK, they do, but it is a mixed bag now, after their outspoken comments.”
It seems that the power couple might come up on top in this situation.
