Ahead of Prince William‘s 40th birthday on June 21, he hopes to make a big move with his family.
Prince William is getting too close for comfort on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s turf by opting to be closer to Queen Elizabeth II.
The heir to the British throne has decided to uproot his family from their Kensington Palace residence in London and relocate to Adelaide Cottage on the Winsor estate.
It has been claimed that Kate Middleton and Prince William will be living with their three young children in Windsor’s Adelaide Cottage.
Prince William is in a rush and wants to settle in his new domain before June 21.
Royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti told Royally Us: “I think more or less coinciding with his 40th birthday, they’re making this move. It’s been rumored for a while that they do it, and now, they’re doing that, which will bring them much closer to the Queen. And possibly it will give them a different way of being able to bring up their kids.”
Kate Middleton and her husband decided to ditch the capital for several reasons. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be closer to Queen Elizabeth.
The aging Monarch has been using Windsor Castle as her primary residence for several years.
Prince William and Kate Middleton believe the move will give their children, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, more freedom.
The move also implies that Prince William and Duchess Kate will be residing closer to the Middleton family.
According to royal experts, this surprising decision from Prince William and Kate Middleton could cause “tension” between the already warring brothers.
While Prince Harry and Markle are California residents, they have a second home in the UK. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been renting Frogmore Cottage, located within walking distance of Adelaide Cottage.
In an episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal commentators Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito had a healthy debate about the consequences of the relocation.
Bowie said: “It’s right next to Frogmore Cottage. Harry and Meghan are right over there, and there’s going to be some tension.”
Fiorito added: “Also, this move is expected to significantly change the dynamic in Windsor where the Duke of York has the most contact with the Queen. I think that’s fascinating. Of course, the school tie in for the kids.”
In early June, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children — Archie and Lilibet — stayed at Frogmore cottage when they returned to the UK for the Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The tension between the royal couples was visible throughout the festivities. The Cambridges and Sussexes were not seen speaking or even looking at one another the entire weekend.
The news of Prince William’s move next to Winsor comes after it was confirmed that Prince Harry and Markle have renewed their lease for Frogmore Cottage and will be going back to England.
A source close to the Sussexes’ decision to renew their lease in Windsor told The Sun: “It is quite a signal that they aren’t going to disappear. They could easily give up Frogmore as their life’s now in California. By agreeing to extend the lease, and with Jack and Eugenie focusing on Portugal, they have a firm presence smack bang in the middle of the Windsor court where it’s all happening.”
The person continued: “They can now come and go any time they please. ‘The coming year could be one of the most tumultuous in royal history, and the Sussexes are making sure they have a foothold in Windsor.”
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Frogmore Cottage remains the UK home of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
There is a possibility that Markle, her husband, and their children might return to the UK this summer to vacation with the Queen.
