Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s recent trip to England did not go as planned. Many in the royal family now fear that they might retaliate by doing what they do best — another bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Many royal sources have spoken after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to their California mansion after attending Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee.
The royal renegades flew to London with their two children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, to celebrate Her Majesty‘s 70-year reign on the British throne.
The Queen and Prince Charles welcomed them, but not the same can be said for Prince William and the British public.
Prince Harry and his family did not spend time with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and her entire family declined the invitation to attend Lilibet’s birthday party.
The couple was left red-faced with embarrassment after being booed outside St Paul’s Cathedral, where they attended a Thanksgiving Service for the Queen.
Insiders say that some of the moments, the lack of interactions, and the snubs they faced while in the UK have hurt them.
Could this hurt lead to a sit-down with Oprah where Markle and Prince Harry will air their grievances?
The former actress and the British Prince were photographed heading to Oprah’s estate in Montecito after arriving back in California.
According to reports, the Sussex chatted with Oprah for about an hour before driving back to their nearby mansion.
It is unknown whether Prince Harry and Markle have scheduled another interview with the media mogul.
Experts say it would make sense for the pair to get back on Oprah’s sofa to bask in the limelight and promote Prince Harry’s upcoming tell-all book due later this year.
The speculation surrounding the second Oprah interview has members of the royal family losing sleep as they ponder the possible revelations that could be made.
Many royal experts quickly weighed in on the possibility of Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming media blitz, with some saying that the Palace cannot stop nor control the narrative.
Others believe that Markle and her spouse are playing a losing game if they drag the Monarchy again.
In a piece written by royal columnist Daniela Elser, she revealed that the move had left the royals in full panic mode, but there is little they could do to stop it.
Writing for news.com.au, Elser said: “Still, it’s hard not to wonder if this damage control is too little too late. Feelings would seem to have been hurt badly, Harry has books to sell, and the duo has a streaming giant bleeding hundreds of billions to keep sweet.”
The royal commentator added: “For now, it’s a watching brief, but with all of the opportunities in the near future for the Duke and Duchess to indulge in the penchant for truth-telling and journey-sharing, are a few warm words here and there really going to be enough to prevent them from coming for another prime time pasting?”
However, another royal pundit shared his thoughts on the matter and gave a different point of view.
During an appearance on TalkTV’s The Morning Show, Dylan Howard said that Prince Harry and Markle are dommed if they take that step.
The royal expert went on to say that despite the doomsday scenario, he still thinks that Prince Harry and Markle will march on with the interview.
He stated: “I don’t know, and I think they may do. I think it’s going to be damaging to the royal institution, but I think one thing is certain – the Firm wins, they’re not going to win. It’s over for them.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back controlling the narrative.
