In June, Prince William, the heir to the throne, celebrated his 40th birthday.
There were no fanfares for the future king of England because all the focus was on Queen Elizabeth II, who was enjoying the lavish festivities around her Platinum Jubilee.
The aging Monarch, who has been dealing with health issues, was celebrated for her 70th year on the British throne.
It has been reported that Queen Elizabeth has plans to throw her grandson a fancy party fit for a king in the fall of 2022.
It is expected to be a double event — because Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, also turned 40 years old this year but could not have a party of her own because the restrictions around COVID-19 were still in place.
The news of the celebrations for Prince William has led to a flurry of speculations, including the biggest one — will Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, be invited?
Many royal experts weighed in on the million-dollar question and explained that they do not believe that Prince Harry and Markle will score an invite to the birthday celebrations for many reasons.
The lack of interaction between the brothers and their families during Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee indicates that the royal rift is ongoing.
Note that Prince William and Kate Middleton dealt a massive blow to Prince Harry by declining the invitation to Lilibet Diana‘s first birthday.
If Prince Harry and Prince William cannot have a one-on-one conversation, they are not ready to attend a party together.
A friend of the heir recently told the Daily Mail that the royal brothers are miles away from resolving their issues caused by “Megxit,” the controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, and podcast revelations.
A royal source painted a somber image of the crumbling relationship between Prince Charles‘s sons.
The insider also spoke about the event by saying in Heat Magazine: “William still loves Harry—that will never change—but his apparent insensitivity makes him persona non grata at the moment, and it will take some miracle for that to change. The feeling is that, even if Harry and Meghan decided to come to William’s celebration, and that is a big if, their presence would bring a whole fresh set of problems, and nobody wants that. The sad truth is that William barely recognizes, let alone relates to, his younger brother anymore.”
The birthday celebration put together by Her Majesty will be an intimate family event, not for celebrities or high-profile guests.
Additionally, many predict that in the fall, Prince Harry and the American activist will have a very busy schedule as they start promoting the tell-all book that is due out in late 2022.
Royal expert Angela Levin recently did an interview where she shared her thoughts on the Cambridges’ joint 40th birthday party and the chatter around Prince Harry and Markle being in attendance.
The royal biographer told The Sun that the event would center on family and added: “William and Kate will be equals on their birthday. It won’t be about either of them, and it’ll be about both of them. It will be very family-oriented and wholesome rather than ‘look at me.”
Royal author Phil Dampier added that the couple will not be filling the guest list with celebrity names and went on to say: “They’ll invite the people that actually mean something to them rather than who’s the biggest celeb they can get. They’ll bring the people they’re closest to, the people they work with, people from the charities they support.”
The Queen is planning to host the party for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge either at Windsor Castle or Sandringham later this summer or in the fall.
Many believe that it will be at Windsor because the Cambridges have recently relocated to a home at the estate.
