Fresh from her marriage to Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is hitting the recording studio to share her feelings, raw emotions, and fears about her fantastic reunion with the filmmaker.
Lopez, who is set to drop a new album entitled This Is Me…Now, sat down with Zane Lowe for Apple Music to talk about the project.
The conversation quickly turned to her husband, Ben Affleck, because the project will heavily focus on her Hollywood-inspired romance with the actor.
Lopez’s latest album is the follow-up to This Is Me … Then, that was released 20 years ago while she was engaged to Affleck, and their romance ended terribly.
The singer and dancer even has a track, “Dear Ben Part 2.” During the sit-down, Jennifer Lopez revealed that when she and Affleck split, she suffered the biggest heartbreak of her life and did not feel that she could survive it.
Jennifer Lopez told the reporter: “Twenty years ago, I fell in love with the love of my life. Now, the most amazing, incredible, unbelievable thing has happened. We’re here because I want to capture this moment in time because it is even better than the first time.”
The businesswoman went on to share some painful details about the brutal split: “It was so painful after we broke up. Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, I was — it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die. It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years, where I just couldn’t get it right. I couldn’t get it right. But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending. ‘That would never happen. We’re not going to write that because nobody would believe it’s ending.”
The actress and makeup mogul also revealed: “It was painful. It was a part of me then that I had to put away to move on and survive. It was a survival tactic, for sure.”
Lopez, who is now living a real-life fairy tale with Ben Affleck, explained that he took serious measures to reassure her that the relationship would last the second time.
When Affleck reconnected with Lopez very early on, he told her that she did not need to ever worry about him breaking her heart again.
She shared: “That’s how he would sign his emails when we started talking again. Like ‘Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.'”
The Oscar winner took things a step further by engraving an internal message on Lopez’s massive engagement ring.
The loving and extreme message reads: “not.going.anywhere.”
Fans are rooting for the power couple.
