Saying that it has been a complicated year career-wise for Meghan Markle would be an understatement.
While Prince Harry was able to open 2023 with a blockbuster move via the publication of Spare, the question of what Meghan Markle has achieved this year is easy to answer.
The former actress has no new projects to her name. Well, she signed with the prestigious agency WME, and made a long list of promises about shows, documentaries, and other business deals — but nothing has come to fruition.
While the year had a rough start with Markle, it is ending in a much harsher way. It seems that the consequences of the book Endgame and the revelation that King Charles III and Kate Middleton made racist comments about Archie might be the nail in Markle’s career coffin.
She is seen as damaged goods or too toxic, and her agency is thinking about jumping off the sinking shape
According to BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole, via Express: “There are potential deals on the table for Meghan that could just as quickly vanish if this continues. Aside from the race row, even the American public is growing weary of mean-spirited and downright cruel attacks on Princess Kate. Whether or not Meghan and Harry were the sources of these, people will simply assume they were because of their past connections with Mr. Scobie.”
The journalist went on to reveal that Prince Harry and Markle must take action to defend their name and brand or “expect to be a part of the backlash against it.”
The publication of the book has led one prominent English politician to loudly revive the call for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to lose their titles.
That is another blow to Markle and Prince Harry’s bank accounts. Conservative Party MP Bob Seely is seeking, through an Act of Parliament, to remove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s titles.
Such a move would cause Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to lose their greatest asset — their direct ties to the Royal Family, which would subsequently lead to them taking a massive financial hit.
Mark Boardman, an entertainment and showbiz expert shared: “The potential costs of losing royal titles could be substantial, not only for the immediate financial impact but also the long-term effects on their earning potential.”
He continued: “Financial penalties or contractual repercussions tied to their titles within existing contracts could amount to millions, particularly if lucrative commercial deals are affected to the tune of millions a year in lost income should the worst happen, and the Sussexes lose their royal titles.”
Boardman added: “Public reactions to the loss of titles may vary by country, with the most significant effects seen in the UK and the US with regards to the impact on their standing would be significant.”
Fans still believe that the the former Suits actress can find success again.
She was not going to be in the next series of suit’s her contract had already been stopped because she was a bad actress and nobody could work with her she treated others as if they were second class to her but she was the one that was fourth class and who wants to employ a near 50 year old who at their best was only a D lister
