Ready or not, Meghan Markle is set to make a historic move with her children that will ruffle many feathers in the monarchy.
This week, Prince Harry announced some major news regarding the Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex revealed that, after more than ten years, his friend and CEO of the Invictus Games, Dominic Reid, would be stepping down.
In a heartfelt letter, Prince Harry wrote: “Ten years on from the inception of the Invictus Games, we proudly stand as a community of 23 nations spanning every continent, fulfilling our mission of saving and changing lives. I am immensely grateful to my friend Dominic, whose dedication and leadership transformed the Invictus Games from an ambitious idea to an internationally recognized movement.”
Days later, the big moment that supporters and participants of the games were waiting for arrived. It was confirmed that the sports tournament for veterans and wounded, injured, and sick armed forces personnel will return to its birthplace.
After a tough competition between multiple cities, Birmingham was declared the winner and will host the sporting event in 2027.
In a statement, Prince Harry said: “Your city’s strong ties to the Armed Forces community made it a formidable contender from the very start. Over the years, we’ve seen each city bring a unique spirit and vision to life for competitors, their families, and spectators.”
He added: “We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating our unwavering respect and admiration for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all — something your city knows well.”
That news has significant implications for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children. Prince Harry and Markle have decided they are ready to make the games a family affair.
Prince Harry’s vision for the future of the games is filled with hope and optimism. He wants Prince Archie to inherit the games and, therefore, wants him involved at a young age.
Prince Archie and his sister are expected to make their first public appearance at the upcoming games in Canada. It has been hinted that the little ones will be in the UK in 2027 to cheer on the many athletes competing.
That decision is uncomfortable and upsetting for many in the Royal Family. King Charles III is frustrated that Prince Harry and Markle are unwilling to bring his grandchildren to London to see him but can bring them over for the game.
The King offered the family an apartment and proper security in one of his many palaces, but they declined.
Kate Middleton and Prince William will be bombarded with uncomfortable questions about their decision not to see their young niece and nephew.
Middleton has made it clear that she does not want any drama in her life as she battles cancer, and this significant development will rattle her schedule and peace of mind.
