King Charles III is not a man who likes to waste his precious time. At 75 and with the weight of one of the world’s most extensive monarchies on his shoulders, the cancer-stricken Sovereign has no room for frivolous matters.
Having waited more than 70 years to ascend to the throne, His Majesty has little tolerance for family drama, childish ultimatums, or public outbursts.
Prince Harry sat down for an interview this week in ITV’s documentary Tabloids on Trial, where he explained that he does not feel safe bringing his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to London.
The Duke of Sussex and his spouse lost their taxpayer-funded police protection detail in 2020 after they decided to step down from their roles as working royals.
Prince Harry has since been battling the British government in court over their refusal to allow him to pay for proper security for himself and his family when they travel to the UK.
During the sit-down, Prince Harry said his concerns for his family’s safety are real. He claimed: “It got to a point where you’re damned if you do, and you’re damned if you don’t. But I don’t think there’s anybody in the world better suited and placed to be able to see this through than myself.”
He indirectly spoke about the recent assassination attempt against Donald Trump and the fact that the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, researched other high-profile figures, including Kate Middleton and Joe Biden.
Prince Harry shared: “It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read. And whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”
This was Prince Harry’s way of telling King Charles that if he ever wanted to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet again, he would have to use his power as an ultimate decision-maker and provide him with the required security.
According to Page Six, Prince Harry escalated the situation by directly calling out his father, King Charles. A source close to Prince Harry told a media outlet that he wants his father to give him security clearance for his trips to England.
The person in the know said: “King Charles can give Harry the security clearance he wants so desperately. As the monarch, he is the ultimate decision-maker. That would be how father and son can reconcile.”
The no-nonsense King kept it short and sweet with his son. His Majesty wants Prince Harry to know that his vile actions have consequences, and he must finally take responsibility for them as the almost 40-year-old adult that he is.
King Charles warned Prince Harry about cutting ties with the institution and attacking the royals. King Charles made it clear that Prince Harry would never have it both ways – be independent while enjoying the monarchy’s benefits.
