Meghan Markle might be feeling herself after her quasi-royal tour, where she made several public appearances and engaged with local communities.
Her harshest critics say that Markle and Prince Harry delivered the goods during their trip to Colombia. Markle razzled and dazzled fashion-wise.
She kept it classy, stuck to her quiet luxury trademark while always wearing Colombian designers. She danced to Salsa music, spoke to local leaders, toured schools, and hugged adorable children.
Markle also gave multiple speeches in fluent Spanish. During a discussion in Cali, Markle dramatically removed her earpiece and shared her feelings about the country and culture, all in Spanish.
According to Archewell, she expressed: “Her deep appreciation for the Colombian hospitality. She praised the culture and history of the country, describing the visit as a dream and highlighting the strong sense of community she felt.”
Markle translated for Prince Harry, much to the delight of the people in the audience. It is now claimed that Markle would love to take her impressive speaking skills elsewhere. Where?
How about the Democratic Convention that started yesterday in Chicago? It is a four-day packed event that includes appearances by Joe and Jill Biden, Hillary Clinton, Barack, and Michelle Obama.
And, of course, Kamala Harris will close the ball on Thursday night by accepting her party’s nomination in hopes of being the next president of the United States.
Markle would love to be in Illinois to back Harris and make her grand entrance into the political arena.
According to Andrew Cockburn, the Washington D.C editor of Harper’s magazine via New York Post and Tatler: “I haven’t heard any rumors. I’m sure she’d like to [be there], but her selling power has really gone pretty rock bottom here,” the political insider tartly declared. I don’t think she would have much effect. I doubt she’ll show up at the Convention.” Cockburn added, “I doubt they’d want her there.”
Since stepping down from her royal duties, Markle has hinted that she wants to enter the political world. Donald Trump has called her a worthy adversary and demanded a debate.
President Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, has reportedly “endorsed” and has praised Markle. Owens explained that she would be welcome in the Democratic tent and added: “The more women we have, the better our democratic system will work, with a better and different point of view, and we embrace all women. We welcome [Markle] to come in and join the Democratic Party.”
Kamala Harris has shown support for Markle and pushed some of her projects. While Markle could appear delusional, stranger things have happened in American politics, so having a celebrity on stage during a convention is possible.
Remember, Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair at the Republican National Convention in 2012 and later regretting it.
Markle would undoubtedly deliver a memorable moment.
