Meghan Markle appeared to be very in love during her two mini-royal tours with her husband. Prince Harry and the former actress could not get enough of each other as they toured Nigeria and Colombia.
There were many hand-holding, affectionate touches, and passionate kisses during the fine dining and fun dancing. The trips looked like the husband and wife were enjoying a second honeymoon.
Now, the pair have returned to California, and it is a stark contrast to the royal and romantic trips. Reality has set in. Moreover, the return to reality has its challenges.
Meghan Markle’s new business ventures have been met with significant drama over trademark and launch issues. Prince Harry received a clear message from King Charles III — he was no longer welcome in the royal fold.
His attempts to reach out were met with silence, with no more invites to family events and unanswered phone calls and text messages. Prince William clearly told Prince Harry that he has definitively ended all relations.
Prince Harry was also dealt the ultimate slap when King Charles told him it was impossible when he attempted to set up a strategy to return to his royal duties.
The mounting problems have pushed Prince Harry to schedule a trip away from Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex will celebrate his 40th birthday on September 15 with Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
After the celebration, Prince Harry will join his male friends for a memorable reconnecting trip. An insider told The Sun: “Harry will enjoy a weekend getaway with a few of his closest mates.”
Hello! reported: “Harry would head on a weekend getaway in the mountains with his closest friends.”
The unexpected birthday getaway with the boys comes after reports surfaced claiming that Prince Harry is not all that happy in California.
A friend of Prince William told The Times: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t turned out how he wanted.”
Another royal source claimed via Page Six that ahead of Prince Harry’s big day, he was going through a middle-life crisis, and felt lost in California.
Royal biographer Angela Levin chimed in with the fact that Prince Harry has not looked very happy lately.
She added: “You could say Harry is not even the spare to his wife. He’s almost nothing. She treats him horrendously. If you look at the filming of them in Colombia and Africa, he is not asked anything. He’s pushed out of the way.”
The royal expert also claimed: “I was completely and utterly astonished to learn that Harry is trying to call in his old friends to help him get back within his own family.”
Others believe this is another clear sign that Prince Harry is retreating and searching for his old self.
