Kate Middleton has a habit of moving discreetly while making an impact. The future Queen and her husband, Prince William, often stick to the monarchy’s motto of not fighting back against accusations and scandals.
However, every once in a while, Princess Kate has a close family member or dear friend who sets the records straight on her behalf.
Meghan Markle has directly accused Catherine, Princess of Wales, of making her cry and disturbing her mental health while preparing for the biggest day of her life.
When they first met, Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, admitted that Middtelon was cold toward the former actress. There was also a lipgloss incident between the two ladies.
Markle made it clear that none of the royals, not Kate Middleton or Prince William, were present for her during her most trying time.
The California native revealed that she was suicidal at some point and felt neglected by the Royal Family, who did not believe in the benefits of working with a mental health expert.
However, close sources to Kate Middleton revealed that she and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, reached out to Meghan Markle when she needed help adjusting to royal life.
Royal journalist Rebecca English confirmed in The Daily Mail that Princess Kate knows better than anyone about the struggles that come with being a newbie in the royal world and was, therefore, concerned for Markle’s well-being.
English stated: “Interestingly, I am told, both ‘repeatedly’ reached out to Meghan when she joined the Royal Family – Sophie particularly so as the late Queen valued her wise and steady counsel. They continued to do so even after the Duchess of Sussex first publicly voiced her unhappiness in 2019, telling journalist Tom Bradby that few people had asked if she was ‘OK’ as she struggled to adapt to royal life.”
Princess Kate and the Duchess of Edinburgh were left stunned and, to some extent, angry when Markle told the world that no one had contacted her, a revelation that left many in disbelief.
According to the royal source, Markle was the one who refused the hand being offered to her. The reporter said: “Both women were ‘shocked’ (and probably slightly angered) at the suggestion – not least because they felt it was Meghan who had rebuffed them.”
The insider stated that the royal ladies did all they could to help, but Markle repeatedly turned them down.
She revealed: “But I know they were concerned enough at the apparent strength of the Duchess of Sussex’s feelings that they continued to offer their support. Needless to say, it was not taken up. There is no doubt the ensuing ‘Sussex saga’ brought Sophie and Catherine even closer as they defended Queen Elizabeth, their own families and the institution they had worked so hard to support.”
It is unknown why Markle turnes down the helping hand from her sister-in-law.
Some say it was due to her pride; others believe she felt it was not enough or sincere.
