Express has confirmed that Prince Harry and Markle have invited Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, and their two young children, August, 3, and Ernest, 1, to California for the year-end holidays.
The former actress and Prince Harry, who stepped down from their royal duties in 2020, are no longer in contact with King Charles III, Prince William, and Kate Middleton due to their behavior and bombshell interviews.
However, Prince Harry and Markle have had solid relationships with the York sisters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
Prince Harry and Markle often vacation in Portugal with Princess Beatrice, her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozz, their daughter, Sienna, and his son, Christopher Woolf.
The author and Markle have also purchased a Portuguese mansion to be closer to Princess Beatrice and her family.
Prince Harry and Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet hope Princess Eugenie will travel to Montecito this winter to bond and allow their children to spend time with their royal cousins.
However, there is a major issue: Princess Eugenie, her spouse, her disgraced father, Prince Andrew, and her mother, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York have been invited to Sandringham, where the Royal Family traditionally celebrates Christmas.
A source close to Princess Eugenie revealed her emotional turmoil. She is torn between her desire to be with Prince Harry and Markle and her duty to honor King Charles’s wishes to be with the Royal Family.
The insider shared that the princess is in a challenging situation and added: “Harry and Meghan have invited Eugenie and Jack to join them in California during the holidays. It’s a very difficult position for Eugenie because she has also been invited to Sandringham.”
The insider said that Princess Eugenie would likely remain in the UK with her parents and the Royal Family and eventually travel to the West Coast for the New Year.
The royal source stated: “It would be so nice for the children to spend time with their cousins. The diary is very tight over the holidays, but there might be a slot free around New Year’s time for everyone to come together at some point.”
Amidst the health crises within the Royal Family, Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to invite Princess Eugenie has been met with criticism, with many questioning the wisdom of their actions.
King Charles is battling cancer. Kate Middleton recently completed chemotherapy, and the Duchess of York was diagnosed with skin and breast cancer and underwent a single mastectomy.
Some have called Prince Harry and Markle out for inviting drama for this Christmas holiday by asking the princess to abandon her cancer-stricken family for Christmas.
