Meghan Markle is learning the consequences of her decision to join her husband as a relentless whistleblower against the Royal Family.
This role involves sharing their secrets and criticizing their practices. While King Charles III, Prince William, and Kate Middleton adhere to the century-old motto of “never complaining, never explaining” to the media, Markle and Prince Harry’s former staffers reveal that this royal protocol does not bind them.
This stark contrast in behavior and expectations is a source of tension within the Royal Family.
People, who worked for the Sussex couple while they were working as members of the Royal Family, are having a field day leaking humiliating information about their brief but impactful stay in London.
A few years ago, former aides destroyed Markle’s reputation by claiming she was a very mean and demanding boss.
These employees stated that she threw hissy fits, made impossible demands, pushed a handful to their breaking points, and quit their jobs.
This week, another group of possible disgruntled employees has decided to reveal another — far less polished — side of Markle.
They alleged that Markle’s obsession with connections with her royal relatives, including Prince William, made people uncomfortable.
According to royal staffers, Markle’s constant urge to hug and touch Prince William often made his blood boil and his skin crawl. This discomfort was a recurring theme in their interactions.
Prince William was not only annoyed but also deeply uneasy every time Markle attempted to embrace him. Her behavior affected the Royal Family, creating a tense atmosphere.
An employee told the Times: “Meghan hugged [William] virtually every time they bumped into each other.”
Another Palace staffer said her actions were not flirtatious, but her behavior affected the Royal Family and created tension.
The person added: “She most definitely did not flirt with the future king; her affection did create a tense atmosphere.”
Staffers claim King Charles and Kate Middleton were also put off by Markle’s relentless urge for a group hug.
The royal aide stated: “She approached Kate, William, and King Charles for a hug — but the trio all flinched in unison. Meghan even tried to hug a singularly stiff Old Etonian equerry. He, too, flinched as if she’d tried to poke him in the eye.”
In the Netflix series Harry & Meghan, the former actress confirms that she was indeed out of place in the Royal Family because she is a hugger, whereas they abide by strict no-PDA rules.
Markle recalled her “jarring” first meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales by saying: “I started to understand that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside, that there is a forward-facing way of being, and then you close the door and think, ‘OK, we can relax now. But that formality carries over on both sides, which surprised me.”
Prince Harry’s wife is from a different environment.
