Meghan Markle was in the spotlight last week when her cookery show — With Love, Meghan — was released.
Meghan Markle gleefully took the audience on a tour of a rented Montecito mansion, where she cooked up a storm, sometimes by herself and other times with the help of a famous chef.
Prince Harry‘s wife also showed her talent as a homemaker, decorator, and hostess. Thousands of miles away, the Royal Family decided it was business as usual.
King Charles III, Prince William, and Kate Middleton took part in multiple royal engagements.
The answer is no for those wondering if Prince William and Kate Middleton watched the series.
They decided not to give Markle any of their time and energy for a rather unexpected reason — they believe Markle has nothing to teach them, so they are not interested in her cooking and suitable homemaking master classes.
According to one friend of the royals, who spoke to Vanity Fair: “There’s very little to actually learn from Meghan‘s TV show. I suspect that [the Royal Family] will be quite dismissive of it. I can’t imagine Kate and William will sit down and watch it. Why would they?”
As Markle prepared doughnuts with flower petals and sun tea, put lots of love in the details, and wrapped gifts with a strong edge, Catherine, Princess of Wales, met with volunteers in Wales and pushed initiatives to help specific British communities.
While other Royal Family members have dismissed the show, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has revealed that Prince Harry is proud of her decision to explore her passion and creativity.
She shared with PEOPLE Magazine: “My husband met me when I had The Tig, and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing what I was doing when he first met me.”
She added: “It’s almost like a honeymoon period again. Because it’s exactly how it was in the beginning when he’d watch me scribbling away, writing newsletters, fine-tuning edits, and just really being in the details. He loves watching as much as I love doing that creative process. It’s just been fun. This is who I’ve always been.”
With Love, Meghan will be back for a second season in the fall, and perhaps this time, it will catch the interest of the royals or not.
Markle is slowly rebuilding her solo brand, time will tell if she can deliver in the long run.
