Meghan Markle has created quite a storm with her simple and seemingly wholesome Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
The comments on the series’ YouTube trailer made it clear that viewers were divided. However, many would be stunned to learn that the division over the show reached the royal palaces in the United Kingdom.
Insiders reveal that the Royal Family is deeply divided over Markle’s cookery show, which is creating some drama within the palaces.
King Charles III decided that Markle had nothing to teach about bread baking, gardening, and beekeeping and refused to give the show a watch, let alone tune in for weekly updates.
Queen Camila, who is not a fan of Markle for a laundry list of reasons, sided with her husband and skipped the Netflix series as well.
According to one source, Prince William, who is not into gardening, homemaking, or baking and decorating doughnuts with flower petals, avoided the show like the plague and likely enjoyed a good soccer match instead.
However, Kate Middleton watched the series with a little push from Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have managed to maintain a unique bond with their warring cousins, Prince Harry and Prince William, amidst all the drama surrounding the Sussex couple.
Princess Kate has spoken about her love of decorating, making crafts, baking, and cooking with her three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
As a mother, she likely appreciated Markle’s light-hearted content. According to In Touch: “While some members of the Firm, like King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William, “aren’t watching. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who have maintained friendships with their cousin Prince Harry, and Meghan, 43, have been very complimentary and supportive. Kate, 43, shares her sister-in-law’s interests in gardening, baking, and beekeeping, notes the source. From her view, this show is harmless and should be seen as a positive thing.”
The royal insider stated: “She isn’t making a fuss about it, but there’s a sense of relief that Meghan is putting her energy into something that steers far away from speaking about the family or stirring up controversy.”
