Meghan Markle has made it abundantly clear that she has no plans to return to the UK under any circumstances.
Since stepping down from her royal duties alongside her husband, Prince Harry, Markle has cited the exact reason why she avoids London.
According to Markle’s interviews and Prince Harry’s testimonies during his numerous court appearances, it concerns security issues.
Markle’s deep-seated concern about her safety in the UK is a significant factor in her decision not to return.
It is the main reason Prince Harry has sued his father’s government, hoping the court will side with him and force them to restore his high level of security.
Inadequate police protection is also why Prince Harry and Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been unable to visit their grandfather, King Charles III.
Over the weekend, Meghan Markle confirmed that her security measures are not just high but uniquely high; some might even say unprecedented.
The Duchess of Sussex traveled to New York to catch the Broadway show Gypsy and many were left baffled by the number of SUVs and unmarked police cars that accompanied her to and from the event.
Page Six has learned that Meghan Markle also hired former multiple “Secret Service agents as part of her private security detail and that the unmarked vehicle, which belonged to the New York Police Department, had two intel detectives inside of it.”
According to the source who spoke to the publication, Meghan Markle rode in “one of the SUVs and the other two were decoys — empty save for drivers — which could have been used to send awaiting photographers on wild goose chases throughout NYC.”
A security expert, who preferred to remain anonymous, backed Markle and commented that her security measures are unprecedented and reflect the serious threats she faces.
However, a paparazzi source revealed to Page Six that they are stunned by the level of security Markle demands when she travels.
The person explained that billionaires, megastars, and even Donald Trump‘s political enemy, Taylor Swift, do not travel with the same level of security as Markle.
This comparison underscores the magnitude of Markle’s security measures, setting her apart from other public figures.
The photographer shared: “The duchess’s security measures are absolutely abnormal, totally over-the-top and excessive. Taylor [Swift] usually has two cars — her car that she’s in and a security car with her team, and if she’s going somewhere, she has a separate car on-site with her team already there, but they don’t travel together.”
Markle has drawn a line in the sand.
