King Charles III made a significant and unexpected move this month, a decision that will undoubtedly reshape the dynamics of the Royal Family.
His Majesty, 76, made it clear to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that all sanctions against them will remain in place, and there is no possibility of forgiveness or parole.
Prince Harry recently received the definitive verdict of his lengthy court battle against the British government, marking the end of a long and arduous chapter.
Prince Harry forced the government to spend millions of taxpayers’ money to reiterate what had already been said — he and Meghan Markle do not have the right to the same level of security as other working members of the Royal Family.
Prince Harry and Markle forfeited that right when they resigned from their royal duties in 2020.
Visibly frustrated and upset by the outcome of the court case, Prince Harry gave a lengthy interview to the BBC, during which he once more claimed King Charles had the power to restore his security. King Charles and his supporters refuted this claim, citing the financial burden on the taxpayers.
The former soldier casually remarked about his poor health to get his father’s attention. Talking about His Majesty, who is battling cancer, Prince Harry said: “I would love reconciliation with my family. … There’s no point in continuing to fight people. It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don’t want that, that’s entirely up to them.”
Prince Harry continued with his distasteful remark about the King by saying: “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family. Of course, they will never forgive me for many things, but there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile.”
Prince Harry lamented that the persistent family drama has overshadowed his pursuit of happiness in California.
He said: “At the heart of it, this is a family dispute, and it makes me really, really sad that we are sitting here today, five years later, where a decision that was made — most likely, in fact, I know — to keep us under the roof.”
Prince Harry went on to discuss the threats that he and his family face while pointing to his father for not prioritizing the safety of his grandchildren.
He claimed: “Look at the risk, look at the threat, look at the impact that if anything was to happen to me, my wife, or my father’s grandchildren. If anything was to happen to them, look where the responsibility lies.”
He concluded by: “Whether we agree or disagree — there’s a lot that we agree on, there’s a lot that we disagree on — that aside, where is the duty of care? Because as I said, life is precious, and it is very clear that from 2020, because I was no longer allowed an official role and because I decided to remove myself from the institution, that my life got devalued from the highest score to the lowest score overnight.”
This is indeed a new era for the Royal Family, as King Charles has abandoned the old motto of not responding to rumors, interviews, and allegations.
Replying to the bombshell accusations made by Prince Harry, King Charles’ spokesperson said: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”
Prince Harry will have to move on.
